When you installed the printer, did you do it from the disk it came with or from the wizard? You need to do it from the disk and follow the directions on the instruction sheet for when to pick the printer, etc. There will be an option on the install disk as to a "wired" or "wireless" printer and you can only install it one way, otherwise it gets confused. If you don't have the disk, you would probably be able to download the program from the lexmark website.

Also, make sure your wireless connection is up and working or there will be no communication, either.

Hope this helps.

My computer cant print to the wireless printer

An update may have corrupted the driver or changed the configuration. Resort to your owners manual for the computer and set up the wireless printing option again. I'm not a fan of wireless printers because of this issue.

Computer unable to communicate with wireless printer

Hi

If you can't connect to your wireless printer, you may have the wrong driver installed. Printer drivers are updated when new versions of operating systems are released, or when security updates are necessary. If you're trying to connect a new wireless printer, check the manufacturer's website to find out if a new driver has been released for your model number and operating system.

Download the latest print driver to your desktop. Print drivers allow the computer and printer to communicate, so the wrong driver will make connectivity impossible.

Go to "All Programs" in the Start menu. Find your wireless printer and right-click to select "Uninstall." The driver will be uninstalled. Close out the programs window.

Double-click the new driver on your desktop to unzip and install it. This should take only a second, and you may not see any dialog box or pop-up menu.

Open a document and choose "File" and "Print." The print dialog box will open.

Click "Add a printer." The add printer wizard will begin. Browse to the driver you just installed and select it when prompted.

Print the document you opened. It should print to the wireless printer. You can click the "Make default printer" box before you print if you want.

Install the driver in the same manner on all the other network computers. You can copy the driver onto a flash drive and copy it from computer to computer to avoid downloading it multiple times.

My printer is not connecting wireless from my comp. I brought it over from my parents house to my new place and it wont work.

For installing a wireless printer on Windows XP, wireless router is an essential device.

Follow the recommended steps mentioned on the installation CD of the router, and set-up a wireless network.

Since several computers or laptops will access the printer, it is recommended to connect the wireless printer to the main computer through the USB port.

To begin the installation process on Windows XP, access the network setting in the Control Panel, and activate the file and printer sharing option in the LAN setting.

This will allow the operating system to recognize the availability of a wireless printer.

Now, click the Start button, go to Devices and Printers, select Add a Printer option.

Click the second option- Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.

The computer will search for available printer and reflect it on the screen.

Click Finish; and the printer is ready to begin the printing process.

Can i add my canon pixma 240 to a wireless network

Hi,
Your printer does not have ethernet or wireless adaptor and therefore it cannot be connected directly to your network.
Basically, you have two options. The first is to install it on a pc that will be always on and all the other computers in the network will be able to print through that. You just have to share that printer. Rightl click on your printer, select properties and then under the share tab click to share your printer.
The other option (if you are printing all the time) is to buy a print server. A print server is a device that is between the network router and the printer. You connect the usb cable to the print server and then the print server on the router. This way your printer will become available to the entire network.

Printing through wireless

hi,

if you had the printer before using the USB cable. then you changed it to wireless, try the ff:

1. re-insert the CD the came with the box, the cd that you used to install the printer Software to your computer.
2. after inserting the cd, it will give you option "add a device".
3. click on that to install the printer driver for WIRELESS.

note: the reason why you cant print, is mainly because the printer driver you have is still for USB connection. so inorder for you to be able to print, you need to install a printer DRIVER for wireless... That should WORK..
