On-line training I want to know how to use ImageMixer but I can not find any outlet that provides instruction. Can you help me?

Try entering only the numbers and not the letters at the end. I called the support line and they told me this. It worked for me...hopefully, it will work for you. Otherwise, call them at 1-800-458-4029.

The imagemixer version that came in the CD-ROM with the camera may no longer work with Windows Vista. A new version, inagemixer 3, has been developed for Vista. You download it from this website. The installation procedure is also provided on this website.

I had exactly the same problem. I was using a USB cable, as I had done with Windows XP. However, when I tried using a DV cable instead it worked no problem at all, and i was able to use Windows Movie Maker, so no need to install ImageMixer. Hope this helps. Tony

In XP SP2 you should have just plugged in the device to a USB port and XP probably would have picked it up and recognized it as a drive and all would be as simple as you probably expected. I as a rule don't use the third party software provided with USB devices because of issues as you are experiencing. It could be that the Imagemixer 3 software was for pre XP SP2 Operating Systems and XP is conflicting.
The fix could be as simple as using a third party uninstaller such as Your Uninstaller 2006, or 2008 to completely uninstall the Imagemixer S/W and letting XP detect and configure your device as posted above.

Hi, I had the same problem and was looking for a solution until I saw your post. I could not find any posted solution so I assume you still have this problem. I can understand your frustration. Sony was not helpful at all. In the end, my company's IT guys helped me sort this out. So I am going to let you know how he helped me out. See if it works for you. No guarantee though! Right click on "My Computer" on your desktop. Click on "Manage". A window opens with a file menu on the left. Go to "Storage" and click on disk management. It should show your disk drives. Right click your DVD drive and select "Change Driver Letters and Path". Another window opens. Click on "Change". Another window opens. Assign a new letter to your DVD drive. Once you have done that, save all the changes. Your ImageMixer software should be able to identify the DVD drive.
