Hi there help help help i have had my sony dcr-sr30 since december and since then i have been trying to transfer the footage i have taken onto a disc. i got the imagemixer 3 with the camcorder and i follow all the steps until it gets to write then it says it cannot find the dvd drive. i have a E.system laptop which has built in DVD+/-RW so why can it not locate the dvd drive. are there any other programmes i can download for a free trial to see if they work. i really dont have a clue about computers but i know i am following all the instructions to write a disc properly. i hope someone can help me i am getting so frustrated now leigh
Hi, I had the same problem and was looking for a solution until I saw your post. I could not find any posted solution so I assume you still have this problem. I can understand your frustration. Sony was not helpful at all. In the end, my company's IT guys helped me sort this out. So I am going to let you know how he helped me out. See if it works for you. No guarantee though! Right click on "My Computer" on your desktop. Click on "Manage". A window opens with a file menu on the left. Go to "Storage" and click on disk management. It should show your disk drives. Right click your DVD drive and select "Change Driver Letters and Path". Another window opens. Click on "Change". Another window opens. Assign a new letter to your DVD drive. Once you have done that, save all the changes. Your ImageMixer software should be able to identify the DVD drive.
