what error are you getting, you may be using the wrong speed of CD's. what type of information are you trying to burn? Data? music? try a different program, you can go to http://infrarecorder.org/?page_id=5 and download the free program and try with that.
I could be way off base, however, the Clarion may be looking for some small piece of code that for whatever reason, does not burn when using the piece of software causing the E6 fault. This is likely some protocol designed specifically to prevent (or at least slow down) duplication of copyrighted music.
You can bounce it off of them directly, however I would be surprised if they would offer support for duplicated materials due to all of the copyright legalities these days. Clarion customer support directly here: https://clarion.com/xe/en/user-support/inquiry/contactus
My name is ArmyMason, I am here to help you. So you have an issue burning music to CD's. What is the format of the music? MP3, WMA, or WAV? Is the music protected by copyright in which doesn't allow you to burn it to CD? Right click on the song and click properties you will be able to see if its copyright protected there. Also some burning software only works with newer CD drives. I had an issue once burning a DVD with this software I bought because the DVD player wasnt supported. Once I upgraded the DVD Burner I was able to burn DVD's. Those are the only things that could be stopping you from burning music.
My only suggestion is to borrow another burner if possible and see if you get the same error with with that one. This will be the simplest way to determine if you have a software problem or if your burner has a fault.
Ok try this DO NOT insert the media until you have completed ya assembly... then tell it to "Burn" it will then ask for the media.. at this point insert ya CD... it should be "Detected" and ya Burn should proceed.I have had this work for me before.
Also try Alcohol 120% thats a great Burner. As well as CopytoDVD...
