It sounds like a bad flash attempt has bricked the unit (made it as useful as a brick)
It can be revived, but you need a copy of the original firmware and a piece of hardware called a JTAG to flash the nvram in the unit and revive it.
If you google linksys jtag ebay you can usually find this hardware for under $10.
Some computer stores will also do this for you for a nominal fee.

Here's a great little video of the process.

Best of luck!

There is also a chance your power adapter is failing, check the voltage with a meter.

when the router is working right (to answer your other question) the power light, WAN light and possibly the wireless light should be on (assuming the modem is on and hooked up to it)

I have a Netgear WNR2000 v4 router. We recently had a power outage.Power came back on in 5 seconds. The cable modem is fine, however the router ONLY shows me a solid green light for power, nothing else.

I would just do the reset, this should allow you to access at factory defaults. (I hold button in for 10 sec).

A solid green (power?) light is good
LAN ports should only light if connected
WiFi port should light if set to active

D-link514 wont turn on after storm power outage

The cause is the power-supply "brick" to the DI-514.
It has failed.

So, it's time to buy a "surge-suppressor" (sometimes integrated into a high-end power-bar) and to buy a new router, for less than $80, in total, to be protected and be ready for the "next" storm.

D-Link DIR-615 (wireless router) no power light on ???

If the power pack is good then the router is dead and needs to be replaced. It's generally cheaper than trying to fix it.

I seem to have totally lost power to my router. No lights noise nada. It doesn't seem to power up and i have no wireless signal.

Try unplugging the router and holding down the RESET button in the back of the router down for 10 seconds...then try to power it back on. Can you also try plugging the power supply into another socket?

If nothing changes then either the power supply went out or the router itself just died.

Most are covered for a year so hopefully you kept the receipt.

Router is not working

What does this line mean? "It's reading all the other computers but isn't working."

Do you mean that the other computers are hard-wired to ports 1, 2, 3 & four on the back of the router? Or are you going totally wireless? Is your cable, or satellite modem plugged into the port labeled WAN?

1. Place the router in an open and central location. Do not plug the power adapter into the router.

2. Turn the power off on your modem. If there is no on/off switch, then unplug the modem’s power adapter. Shut down your computer.

3. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your modem and plug it into the WAN port on the router.

4. Plug an Ethernet cable into one of the four LAN ports on the router. Plug the other end into the Ethernet port on your computer.

5. Turn on or plug in your modem and wait for it to go through its boot cycle. It takes about 30 seconds. Watch the lights on the modem to tell when it has finished booting.

6. Plug the power adapter into your router. Again, wait about 30 seconds for the router to boot.

7. Turn on your computer.

8. Verify the link lights on the router. The power light, WAN light, and the LAN light for the port you plugged your computer into.

Now, open Internet Explorer (web browser) and in the Address line, type 192.168.0.1 and hit enter. You should see a login screen. Enter a user ID of admin and leave the password blank.

This should log you into the configuration utility for your router. You should see a Setup Wizard button that will walk you through setting up your router.

D-Link DI-534 Starting up problems

Press the reset button for 10 seconds and after 10 seconds unplug the power cable but continue pressing the reset button for another 30 seconds after 30 seconds plug in back the power cable and continue pressing the reset button for 10 seconds and release it after 10 seconds.

try to open an Internet browser and type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar. It should give you the DLink page. Once you have that configure your connection.

Ibought new Belkin router it totally not working I try to thorugh cable even

hello!

-- who is your internet service provider
-- what is the operating system of your computer?
-- is this working fine before or is this a brand new router

i have read the same problem on the supportrix forum and you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router and repeat the same steps.

note:

configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username (email address format) and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

if you are still having trouble configuring your device, try to call supportrix

Lights not lit on router??!! Brand new!

as long as you have connected your powered up modem to the rear port of the router and set it up firstly through the RJ45 cable and it is plugged in, then the power light should be on, if no power light then nothing is going to set up, so as long as you know you have followed the instructions, it must be a faulty unit, but go through everything again, as you may have missed something; as we all do at times.
