Lights not lit on router??!! Brand new!

Hi...I just purchased a Linksys WRT55AG router, and i've gone through the whole set-up process, which seemed pretty basic, but nothing is happening. Nothing is lit on the router, not the power light...nothing. I thought that the problem might be in the power cord or outlet, but i tested both and both are working properly. Is this a faulty router?? I'm so frustrated!

i have set up wireless before with no problem, and this was a pretty basic set-up. i double checked everything, and still no luck. guess i'm just gonna return it. i'm just questioning if i should return it for another linksys, or get a different brand.

Most probably a faulty router. I recommend DLink as we have had about a 50% failure rate with Linksys in the past 6 months.

As long as you have connected your powered up modem to the rear port of the router and set it up firstly through the RJ45 cable and it is plugged in, then the power light should be on, if no power light then nothing is going to set up, so as long as you know you have followed the instructions, it must be a faulty unit, but go through everything again, as you may have missed something; as we all do at times.

personally, netgear or belkin are the easiest to set up in my opinion

After years of dial up, I've acquired a HughesNet

According to the manual, you can purchase any wireless router (manual calls the router "air base")

I would advise a D-link or a Linksys router.

WRT55AG router- wireless lights blink on and off and no ethernet?

If you plug in computers on the ethernet ports and they dont light up at all but you are sure that the cables that you are using works as well as the ethernet port on your computer that means that the unit is already defective. You can contact 8003267114 for replacement if its under warranty
