Flip over the vac and use a long skinny screwdriver to spread the tabs that capture the two nubs on either side of the lever then pull the old part out. Then simply align the new part, and press it down into the slot till it clicks in place.

Not enough info to help fully. I'd call Bissell Consumer Care at 1-800-237-7691 Remember, you don't have the knowledge of seeing the inside before but they should have a troubleshooting guide to walk you thru it. Good Luck. Hope that Helped.

The handle release pedal wasn't allowing the handle to lower. I took off the pedal and saw the spring load part was broken. What is this part and how to replace it? Bissell 3760-3 handle release

Order Slider Release (7.93, vacpartswarehouse) Pull off 'tank.' Remove 3 Screws for Foot Detent Lever. Pull off. Remove old slider release and spring (verify it's broke.) Replace with new. I just did this today after a year of dealing with it.

I need to replace the belt on my Sharp Vacuum Cleaner: Model ECTU4609. Can't find Owner's Manual and can't figure out how it goes on .

i have replaced vacumm belts before .. Normally it is located underneath..flip over the vacumm unscrew some screws.. open the cover..youll see a large roller pin type object remove it carefully noting how it is placed..pull it out.. and replace the belt...you can also clean off the debris while doing this..an added plus..for vacumm maintenace..
PLease indicate whether this has helped you at all ..Thank You

Bissel 3593Handle Release Lever/Pedall replacement

You need to replace slider release not just the handle. Take off the screws holding the black plate under the removavle canister the you will be able to see the slide release.

Bissel vacuum cleaner

That is the problem with a bagless, but if you keep the filters clean it won't be quite as dusty.

Foot Pedal Broken

For the handle release, part number is Detent Lever 2030052 Try bissell.com, or call a local repair shop, if they repair Bissell's, then they may have this part in stock. You shouldn't have to take it aprt, there 2 tabs on the release that fit into slots on the base, there move the slots so as to release the tabs.

Bissell Cleanwell II Bagless uprighht vacuum

Hi Pmob20,

Remove the brush and clean all the string or whatever may be trapped at the end edges of the brush.  This is usually the case with Bissel vacs, that string or fiber gets trapped at the ends of the brush assembly.

Bissell powerforce

I just got done fixing a unit with this problem. After a bit of time, dirt will build up in the lower unit and clog the vacumm tube. Symptoms: No air flow coming out of the vacuum. Motor is hot. Stuff is spitting out of the front Motor wouldnt start it had over heated. You should remover the roller and clear the clog by hand. Let the motor cool down and it should start once it had cooled down.
