Foot Pedal Broken

The spring is broken and needs to be replaced. Any idea what the part number is? Also, where to order it? And, maybe how to replace it? I am pretty handy and can start taking it apart, but I didn't want to take more apart than I needed to.
Thanks!

For the handle release, part number is Detent Lever 2030052 Try bissell.com, or call a local repair shop, if they repair Bissell's, then they may have this part in stock. You shouldn't have to take it aprt, there 2 tabs on the release that fit into slots on the base, there move the slots so as to release the tabs.

I had the same problem. Flip the vacuume over and with a skinny screwdriver, release the remenants of the broken lever. Bissell.com doesn't sell the part, they will direct you to an authorized repair facility, but a quick google of "bissell 2030052" will reveal several internet based parts sources. The lever runs around $5 or $6 plus shipping. It simply pushed down from the top and clicks into place. Hopefully this re-designed part will not have the stress point that causes breakage where the plastic "spring" section attaches to the lever.

How to fix floor pedal on riccar 8850

Your 8850 is probably over 15 years old, almost all parts are interchangeable with the 8955 or 8925 model made today. You may need to replace the pedal if the catch has worn or broken. There is no wire on the. Pedal assembly but there is a spring that goes on the pedal shaft to make the pedal spring back after you push on it.

The handle release pedal wasn't allowing the handle to lower. I took off the pedal and saw the spring load part was broken. What is this part and how to replace it? Bissell 3760-3 handle release

Order Slider Release (7.93, vacpartswarehouse) Pull off 'tank.' Remove 3 Screws for Foot Detent Lever. Pull off. Remove old slider release and spring (verify it's broke.) Replace with new. I just did this today after a year of dealing with it.

Foot controlled handle release lever is broken. Where to get parts?

I had same problem - the foot release pedal would not spring into place when unit was upright (but would work if you nudged in place with your foot). I installed a replacement part, and it didn't fix the problem. I cut out a small sqare of sponge and jammed it behind the flat end of the bent plastic spring on the release pedal, and it now springs back as it shoud. Hope this helps.

Foot latch is broken. need to replace with new one. how does one access to remove the foot pedal latch. By foot latch, I mean the foot lever that releases the upright to lower the handle and begin...

it is accessed from the bottom underneath by the rear wheel. However, If there are and cracks on the pedal release socket area then the base will need replacement. parts are little cost but the unit needs to be completely disassembled.

Model 8975-C - broken foot lever

I'm fairly upset with Bissell over this issue and considering switching to a better brand after constantly having to replace this item on every vacuum of theirs I've had. It is shocking that they would have a part that gets stomped by your foot and jerked with the entire weight of the vacuum made out of cheap plastic. The curved piece acts like a spring to hold the vacuum upright. Can you imagine a curved leaf spring made out of plastic?? In any case, they call this an "internal part" and therefore not user serviceable. You have to call their 800 number to get a dealer local to you, usually a sewing and vacuum place, and then get them to sell you the part. Otherwise, you are going to have to take the vacuum to them and have the dealer replace it.

Foot operated release "spring" is broken. Replaceable?

Remove the pieces of the old spring and take it to any OSH store, they have an assortment that will likely have one that will work.

Bissell Bagless Vacuum cleaner

There is no release, the part is a plastic handle release lever, you can find those at www.hesco.com, the cost is approximately 2.29 each, I have replaced more than 20 of these on the commercial vacuums for my cleaning crew, the part is easily broken and easily replaced. I always have 6 or more on hand.
Turn the vacuum over, remove the bottom plate, with a flat head screw driver punch out the old part. turn the vacuum upright again after the broken part is removed. With the body laying back on a hard surface, carefully push in the new part. Unfortunately, these are plastic, too bad they cannot design a more sturdy part for this.

Foot Pedal was knocked out of alignment

You will have to take the top loose so you can put the handle release in its place. It probably isn't in the right place, either that or a piece of it broke off and it needs to be replaced.
