My Sansa E250 works fine with headset, but when I plugin to car or Altec Lansing portable Speaker system, it will not play- it goes to writing, connecting - "connected" state.

Hi Dan Bushey, I'm glad you found a solution, what does not close me is that Altec Lansing, which needs a DC 18volts and 650mA power supply, works with a source that delivers 9 volts and 19KW (???)
Maybe it will be 19 volts and 1.9 Amp?
Comment please

1 does it have bluetooth
2 is it turned on
3 have u searched for devices i.e. in settings -- music -- play over bluetooth -- select device i.e. Portable Sound System Device / Click / Ok / Play?
Pardon my question; but what do you mean everything works fine? Have you attempted to attach the speaker system to an other device, such as a Receiver, DVD player, TV, etc? First check and see if the System works on other electronics and if it is working, then you go back to your computer and start from there; and I assume "everything works fine" could be the computer. The Altec is one of the best systems out there and their quality superior. It is rare to get a new Altec in a defective state as they do a great job on quality control.
On
your phone, make sure bluetooth is turned on (settings, general).
While
your phone is in discovery mode, turn your bluetooth device on and put
it in discovery mode (usually you have to hold the power button for 7-10
seconds).
Your phone will find the device, and you will be
prompted to enter the devises PIN number (often 0-0-0-0). Your phone
should pair with the device then.
1. Movies and Music should be in MP3 format.
2. Plugin SanDisk to Computer.
3. System will open new drive in "My Computer" name as Sansa e250 .
4. Copy music, movies and past it into Sansa Drive.
There is another good feature in SanDisk.
You can also record the song from FM Radio.
At the time of listining song from FM press Rec button. Song will get saved in your SanDisk.
See if this helps:
-Close all programmes on your computer.
-Turn off your Sansa e250.
-Attach the cable into the USB port of your computer before attaching it into the actual e250.
-The scroll wheel on the Sansa should have turned on by now.
-Then it's just a matter of waiting for a few seconds.
-Try opening Windows Media Player to see if it detects your device.
Otherwise, be patient. Goodluck.
