If it's the down arrow that is blinking, mine was doiong the same thing. The problem in my case was that the sensor ribbon was dirty. The ribbon tells the ink cartridges what position it should be in. This ribbon is the thin one that the ink carier glides along, not the white ones attached to the carrier. Take a damp paper towel and clean both sides of the ribbon- there will be a lot of black gunk that comes off. Mine worked fine after I did that, I hope yours will, too. Good luck!
