HP DeskJet 5740 InkJet Photo Printer Logo

I have a 5740. There's a document stuck but I can't cancel it. The right hand side light is blinking. I have troubleshooted but it does not correct it. I have rebooted my computer twice, but I don't know how to reboot the printer itself other than turning it off, but that doesn't resolve the problem either. Can you help?

Printer lights can can blink for more than one reason, so the solution can vary. These solutions need not be performed in a specific order, but solutions for the most common issues are presented first.
Blinking lights are often accompanied by an error message on the computer screen, which might help determine the solution.

Sounds like it is expecting a different size paper than you have in it. In the item that you are trying to print confirm the page size. If it is a document that you download or someone sent you it could be in a different page size. To cancel it you will likely have to go into the printer settings and delete it from there then power off the printer and power it back on, this should clear the job. Windows will keep trying to print the job until it is successful or deleted. To see the print jobs double click on the printer icon then just highlight and delete it.
