Can not get the 'pinch zoom' function to work on the mouse pad. Have reinstalled the mouse driver but this has not helped, in fact there is no longer the option to turn this function on. Before I reinstalled the driver, there was an option but I was not able to select it for some reason, despite clicking on it several times. Any suggestions?

I don't know what model your computer is but, if the driver did not let you select that feature then you might not have that feature.
For me to help you, please give your model number please.

Do not check the check box as leaving the touchpad enabled while using an external mouse will not cause any harm.

Was composing a letter from my email, it moved to very small can't see it very small need to in large the fonts

When viewing the email try holding the Ctrl key and rotating the scroll wheel on the mouse, if you have a touch pad like a laptop use the zoom function which is done by pinching and spreading your fingers on the touchpad. if you are using a browse look for the zoom function in the browser.

Can I disable the pinch-zoom from the mouse pad?

Hi,

Go to the touchpad icon on the taskbar and go to the pointing device properties . Go to the device settings tab, then click the settings button. On the left hand side there is a menu of items to select, click on pinch zoom and unclick the enable zoom box, press apply and ok. This should solve your problem.

Please let me know whether this works.

Toshiba Laptop spontaneous font size change

Disable the dreadful "pinch-zoom" of the Snyaptics touch pad.
How it is supposed to be used is at
http://www.synaptics.com/solutions/technology/gestures/touchpad . However, I tried these "gestures" and none of it worked on my touchpad.

On Windows7, one can disable this poor excuse for a feature by going to Control Panel->Hardware and sound->Devices and printers->Mouse->Device Settings->Settings [button half-way down, on the right]->pinch zoom. Then uncheck "enable pinch zoom".

How do i turn off zoom function of synaptics touch pad Hp laptop

Are you talking about the two finger zoom by spreading your fingers apart on the touchpad to zoom out or pinching them together to zoom back in?
This works for Dell touch pads so below where it says ‘Dell touchpad’ it probably says HP touchpad?

· Goto your control panel
· Click on ‘Mouse’
· Click on the ‘Dell touchpad’ tab
· On the resultant popup screen, double click on the main touch pad region
· Click on the ‘gestures’ setting
· Uncheck the zoom
Good luck…Chris

Frozen touch mouse

Get your laptop utility CD/driver. Borrow a USB mouse and then you access the laptop driver so you can reinstall the touch pad. That should work (it worked for me).

Then before ejecting your utility disc/driver, you copy the touch pad folder and then paste it to your desktop so the next time you'll need to reinstall your touch pad, you can readily access it.

Laptop touch pad doesn't work properly

Here is what I did to get the touchpad to start working again. My laptop is Gateway and a couple years old, running Windows Vista.

1. Start>Control Panel
2. Double-click on Mouse icon (or button, depending on how you're systems set up).
3. When a the Mouse Properties window pops up, choose the Device Settings tab.
4. Click on the Settings... button.
5. A new window pops up and on the right side there is a list of options - choose Tapping.
6. Once clicked, there is a check box that allows you to Enable Tapping.
7. Click OK to close out your windows and the tapping option should be enabled on your touchpad.

Hopefully this helps.
