When I turn onto the VCR function so I can rewind or play a tape, it beeps. The eject button flashes and in the upper right hand corner flashes c:31.22. I am not able to do anything. Is there something I can do to be able to use the VCR function? I have tried other tapes and still have the same problem

That error means that something is out of alignment or stuck in the tape mechanism. You have two options: to have the camera inspected and repaired, OR if you don't want to do that and feel you don't have anything to lose do this:
Remove the tape.
Close the tape door completely.
Close the LCD.
Turn the camera off.
Remove the battery.
Give the camera a good firm smack or two on each side with the palm of your hand.
Power the camera up and try the tape again.

It sounds crazy, but doing that can possibly help unjam whatever mechanism is locked up.
This has worked for many people.
Hopefully it will take care of your situation too.

A version of the "smacking" solution worked for me when my Sony PC-110 would not 'present' the tape during eject. The transport mechanism lifted the from the camera body but would not open to allow access to remove or insert tapes and would retract after ~5 sec. This happened after the unit was not used for over a year. I took it to a local camera shop who charged me $35 to send it off for an estimate which took over a month and turned out to be ~$550 (I found out later that at that time Sony still manufactured the PC-110 and would service any problem for the flat rate of ~$525-this is no longer the case). I declined the repair due to it's high cost. I tried removing the battery when the transport was fully presented and 'thumping' it with my index finger but when I re installed the battery it still wouldn't open. I tried the same thing again and feeling I had nothing to lose gave it a real hard, finger hurting, thump square on the side of the transport.. It has worked perfectly ever since.

Getting E2 error flashing on vcr and can't rewind tape or anything.Don't have user manual to see what that error means.

E2 means: Loading motor locked in the unload direction. Usually(not always) happens with a going bad VCR tape on the rewind. Tape is becoming too difficult to rewind and/or VCR is getting tired. Eject tape. Discard tape as soon as practical, new tapes are cheap. To clear: Hold power on/off button for 8 seconds.

VCR ejecting my cassettes

Try removing the top cover & have a look to see what happens when you put the tape in & press play/rewind etc. Is the take up spool (right hand spool) turning properly or is there slack tape not being taken into the cassette? Are the heads spinning ? I think your problem is more likely to do with the tape not travelling smoothly around the tape path. Possibly the clutch gears need cleaned or the soft brakes may not be dis-engaging properly.

Tape will not eject

If you open the eject thingy like normal then look for a small white plastic tap. its located right underneath the "start/stop" text you see on the back end of the camera (where the record-button is). You´ll need something like a small screwdriver or similar. Press it and and the tape ejects like normal. Worked for me. Saved me the repair bill :)

Vhs eject will not release tape.

I had a suggestion that did work. Reach into the VHS compartment with left hand and press down toward the back of the tape. With the right hand press the eject button a few times and the tape did come out. I would not buy a Samsung product again. No help from their 800 tech support. No more playing the VHS side of the player. Lynn

Tape stuck in VCR, won't eject.

you posted 2 different problems here...
to answer this one ". The tape is stuck, won't eject and I'd like to get it out without damaging the VCR unit."...open unit, find motor that moves tape ejector and spin that motor by hand (power off)

the other problem, "the VCR will not insert a tape. It keeps rejecting it."...open unit and fully turn ejection motor until home position is reached...this is a home sensor switch not being activated.

Has error

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
