Cant close safe with key ?

If you are unable to lock your safe with the key, there may be a few reasons why this is happening. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

- Ensure the locking bolts are fully retracted: Before trying to lock your safe, ensure that the locking bolts are fully retracted into the safe door. If the bolts are not fully retracted, this can prevent the locking mechanism from engaging.
- Make sure the key is fully inserted: Ensure that the key is fully inserted into the lock mechanism and turned in the correct direction to lock the safe. Sometimes the key may not turn if it is not fully inserted into the lock.
- Check for any obstructions: Check the door and locking mechanism for any obstructions that may be preventing the lock from engaging. Ensure that the door is fully closed and flush with the safe body.
- Try applying pressure to the door: Sometimes safes can become misaligned, making it difficult to lock the door. Try applying gentle pressure to the door while turning the key to see if this helps the locking mechanism engage.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the locking mechanism itself. In this case, you should contact a professional locksmith to diagnose and repair the issue.

2012 Volvo C70 convertible. The top is stored, trunk lid opens as normal, then everything stops. Have to wait maybe 30 minutes then I can successfully close the top back down.

Question moved from spanish car maker 'Seat' (See-At).
Question edited for clarity. Guessing it is a Volvo, so moved it there. 'Year Make Model' in all question please.

Try, it just be aware of pinch points and get ready to move fast. Also have someone at the ignition key ready to cut power in case anything jams.

Behind starter fly wheel only moves back not forward wil not start not start starter seems like its working spins

Disconnect the battery and then carefully remove the starter. Take the unit to a local auto parts dealer for a bench test. Starters have two separate functions, one spins the shaft to crank the engine, the other is called a bendix, which pushes the starter gear out to engage the flywheel, and then after the engine engages, retracts it (except in the case of starter/generator combo units which recharge your battery and power your vehicle's electricals while the engine is running) Always best to get a bench test rather than depending on apparent symptoms.

How to fix Powershot Elph 530S so that the lens retract all the way when powering off

From the way you describe the problem it appears that the retraction mechanism has become out of line. I think that as you can hear a clicking sound the mechanism is working but not engaging with the lens. Try gently applying slight pressure on the front of the lens this may help to re-engage. You may need to consider a trip to the repair shop.

I have a Simplex Kaba Ilco Unican 1000 keyless lock and I want to change its password. But I don't know how to do it. Is there anybody to help me? It's urgent please...

I found this instruction elsewhere on this site ( thanks to pctuneup191):

PROCEDURES TO CHANGE THE COMBINATION OF SIMPLEX 1000 SERIES CIPHER LOCKS

1.) ENSURE THE DOOR IS OPEN.

2.) INSERT THE DF-59 CONTROL KEY INTO THE COMBINATION CHANGE PLUG ASSEMBLY (ON THE BACK OF THE DOOR) AND UNSCREW THE CYLINDER BY TURNING THE KEY COUNTERCLOCKWISE.

3.) TAKE THE CHANGE PLUG ASSEMBLY COMPLETELY OUT OF THE DOOR.

4.) TURN THE OUTSIDE DOOR KNOB CLOCKWISE ALL THE WAY UNTIL IT STOPS, THEN RELEASE THE KNOB.

5.) PRESS IN THE EXISTING COMBINATION FIRMLY.

6.) INSERT THE SPANNER WRENCH IN THE COMBINATION CHANGE SLEEVE. IT SHOULD INSERT AT THE NINE O'CLOCK POSITION.

7.) TURN THE SPANNER WRENCH GENTLY CLOCKWISE UNTIL IT STOPS AT THE 12 O'CLOCK POSITION. NOTE THE NOTCHES IN THE COMBINATION CHANGE SLEEVE MOVES AS THE SLEEVE IS MOVED.

8.) TURN THE SPANNER WRENCH COUNTERCLOCKWISE BACK TO THE NINE O'CLOCK POSITION UNTIL IT STOPS. REMOVE THE SPANNER WRENCH.

9.) TURN THE OUTSIDE DOOR KNOB CLOCKWISE (ALL THE WAY, UNTIL IT STOPS), THEN RELEASE.

10.) INSERT THE NEW COMBINATION BY PRESSING IN THE BUTTONS. USE AT LEAST three numbers and a maximum of five.

11.) TURN THE DOOR KNOB CLOCKWISE ONCE, ALL THE WAY, UNTIL IT STOPS. HOLD IN THIS POSITION AND CHECK IF THE LATCH IS RETRACTED.

12.) RELEASE THE DOOR KNOB.

13.) TURN THE DOOR KNOB CLOCKWISE ONE MORE TIME TO THE STOP POSITION. AT THIS POINT, THE LATCH SHOULD NOT RETRACT UNLESS YOU USE THE NEW COMBINATION.

14.) REINSERT THE CYLINDER INTO THE BACK OF THE DOOR BY SCREWING IT IN CLOCKWISE WITH THE DF-59 CONTROL KEY (DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!)

REMOVE THE KEY.

A Df-59 key can be purchased at this site:

When I enter my code the bolt only retracts 75%, leaving the door still secured.

Try pulling or pushing the door in while you lock and unlock, sounds like the bolt is binding in the door frame, comon problem with these locks in changing temperatures and humidity.

I was changing the batteries. Now the bolt retracts when you push "lock" and Locks when you put the the code. How do I fix this reversal function problem?

Aside from the possibility of the unit "losing its marbles" the only thing I could think would be to reverse the handing by moving the jumper from Pins 1&2 to Pins 2&3 or vice versa... see what effect that has. And if still not working, see what effect it would have to move the jumper back to its original position.
I might also try letting it sit overnight without the batteries in it.
