The hand held attachment no longer has suction. The hose collapses when I try to use it. Have cleaned the vacuum thoroughly and the filter. This still happens. Ive taken all the parts off and cleaned in there too. What else can i do?

Hi, please ensure that the hose is fitted correctly into the base of the Dyson. If this becomes loose or detached the machine will not **** whilst using the hose. Also check that the u bend is fitted correctly. Finally check that the vent on the left hand side (when standing behind the machine) is correctly inserted. The other issue could be that the Wand itself is blocked. Try detaching the wand from the hose and see if the hose has suction. If it does then the wand is blocked, if it doesnt then the problem lies elsewhere.

I have cleaned out the vac and changed the filter but I can hardly **** up leave on the garage floo.

Try this:
Detach hose, turn on vacuum, hold hand in front of intake to check airflow/suction. If it seems good, you either have a clog in the hose, are bad leakage.
If it's a clog, try placing end of hose in the exhaust port, turn on machine, and blow clog free. You may need to place other end into intake. This should clear it.
If hose is cracked, punctured, or smashed/collapsed, replacement will be necessary.
If there's not much suction at the intake, it may be time to replace your vacuum, or at least the motor.

I have Bissell Powerforce Bagless Upright Vacuum. it doesn't suction well. I checked the belt. It is ok. may be clog in the hose.I don't no how to clean. can you help me please?

- Check the dirt cup to make sure it is empty.
- Your vacuum has 3 filters. Dirty filters will restrict air flow. The filters may be hand washed in cold water with mild detergent. Allow them to completely dry prior to reinstalling them. The white HEPA media post-motor filter is not washable.
- Lift the upholstery hose from the bottom holder. Check for suction at the end of the hose.
If there IS good suction at the end of the hose, please unplug your machine from the outlet and try the following:
- Ensure the hose is firmly pressed into the lower hose outlet on the back of the vacuum.
- Check to ensure the brush is rotating. If it is not, remove the plate on the bottom of the vacuum. Check the belt and clean the roller of dirt and debris.
- Check the lower hose for clogs by removing the screw which attaches it and lifting the hose up to clean it out. Also, remove the larger hose by twisting it off and using a broomstick handle, push any dirt and debris through the hose.

No suction on wand of Dyson DC14 Animal

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

It sounds as though the wand handle is blocked. To check this, remove the wand/hose from the machine as if you were going to use it to vacuum the stairs. Switch the machine on and test the suction at the top of the wand handle with your hand. If the suction from the wand is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction again from the top of the hose. If the suction here is good, then you know the wand handle is blocked. If the suction is poor at the hose, you can remove the hose from the machine and clear any blockages here.

For the full blockage procedure please visit the support section on our website at www.dyson.com.

Kind regards

Coils in hose attachment collapsed at top causing hose to collapse and not suction, how do I fix this?

To fix it properly you need to replace the hose. If you are low on cash try going to a thrift store and get a used one. If you put something in the hose to prevent the collapsing it will quickly clog the hose.

Floor attachment does not suction, no clog in the hose, hand held works when dettached from floor attachment

Have you checked the floor head? Use a pipe cleaner or twisted metal to carefully and gently see what's in there. It sounds like dirt or something has definately sealed up the main suction channel.

Suction loss when handle is tipped back to clean carpet

can any one help,
Our Dyson Animal vacuum has plenty of suction when it is upright and the attachments are being used off the hose, but when the handle is tipped back to begin cleaning carpets the beater head is getting no suction. As the handle is being tipped back you can hear what sounds like a flapper valve in the body of the vacuum opening and then all the suction just goes away.

Suction only works using the hand held mode, there is no suction when try to use on carpet mode,

There must be a clog in either the hose, dirt inland by the brush roll, or bad filters. If you have suction at the end of the hose, then look lower all the way to the brush roll.
