My dyson keeps cutting out. It's like a pulse noise and works intermittently.

Hi Thanks for making contact and I'm sorry you're having difficulty. I would suggest that this is a blockage of some kind as the pulsating is caused by a lack of airflow (the motor is protecting itself by pulsating and then ultimately cutting out). I would recommend looking at the following video which will take you through a methodical way of checking this. The model in the video is a DC59 but applies to most cordless models: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdnu4yk-5vI Furthermore, I would check the bin inlet to make sure that the one-way door/flap is not jammed as this also can cause the problem.

If you continue to have difficulty, please give the Dyson Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA), 0800 298 0298 (UK). Our experts will be happy to talk you through some further diagnostic checks when you have your machine easily to hand.

Best wishes

Allan

How do i remove the power supply socket from the dyson wall mount

Hi Les, it's Jack at Dyson. The end of the charger cord assembly which attaches to the machine itself is held in place securely by a friction-fit connection. You should be able to use something like a flat-bladed screwdriver to free the end of the charger cord from the docking station. Then with the docking station removed from the wall, you should be able to disconnect the charger cord completely from the rear of the dock, following the route shown in the image below: remove-power-supply-socket-from-dyson-wwjhwhxcdangi3pthjaixvoq-2-0.jpg I hope this helps - if you'd like any additional advice you're welcome to give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Why does my dyson filter smell of dog *** when i let it dry before replacing it after washing

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. As you'll probably be aware, DC59 has one washable filter, engineered to last the lifetime of the vacuum. We recommend washing this at least once a month using cold water without detergent, as shown in the video below: Always allow the filter to dry completely before replacing it - this may take at least 24 hours. Replacing the filter when damp could cause damage to the machine not covered under guarantee, and could also contribute to any odour coming from the vacuum. It may help to place the filter somewhere warm to dry, such as by a radiator, in an airing cupboard or on a sunny window sill. Please note, the cyclone pack and clear bin should never be washed or submerged in water as this could cause permanent damage to the vacuum. However, it is possible to separate the clear bin from the cyclone pack as shown below. You can then use a soft brush to remove any fluff or debris from the mesh shroud, and you can wipe the inside of the clear bin with a damp cloth to remove any clinging dust particles. Make sure the bin is completely dry before reassembling. 161cd10e-29a4-4d03-9923-be2e9e215818.jpg I hope this helps, but if you'd like any further advice on cleaning or maintaining your DC59, please give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

after you have washed the filter are you putting it back wet? if you are that could be the problem.

When I plug it in to charge the blue charging light comes on for 2 or 3 minutes then goes out and charging stops. Have I blown the charger by constantly leaving it plugged in? Please help!

Hi Alvina, it's Jack at Dyson. DC59 will display a blue indicator light at the base of the hand grip while the machine is taking in power. The light will go out when the machine is fully charged. DC59 will take 3.5 hours to charge fully when the charge is completely depleted, but it will take less time than this if there is still some charge remaining on the battery after use. Please note, the machine's intelligent control software is designed to ensure the battery only takes in enough power to recharge, and to keep itself topped up. It's safe to leave the machine connected to the charger at all times when not in use - the machine is designed to be stored in this way, so it's always ready to go when you need it. From the information you've provided, I'm not clear on whether or not you're finding your DC59 works as normal once the blue charging light goes out, or whether it's not working at all. To make sure everything is correct, please get in touch with our experts directly. We'll be happy to talk you through some simple diagnostic checks when you have your machine easily to hand. You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) 1800 239 766 (AU), or 0800 298 0298 (UK). We'll look forward to speaking with you.
