Error 40

Alot of the times that is caused by a bad fuser. Change your fuser to a new one if the fuser still continues with the error 40 and the fuser is OK then go into Service Diagnostics, NVRAM Access and run the "Clear Tech. Rep. Fault". What happens is that if the errors comes up more then 3 times it gets stuck in the engine control board So then you have to erase the engine cotrol board to start fresh with no faults or errors. Error Engine Fuser low heat

possibly the fusers thermostat is displaced. it rides very close to the roller to get an accurate reading, look for 2 wires into a black "thing" toward the middle of the roller. this is a thermistor which sends its reading to the mainboard. check if the fuser is getting very warm, there is a thermo couple in series with the fusers power so it wont overheat but if its getting hot and the printer doesnt know it then the dammaged/displaced thermostat would be the thing to look for,

Error message Engine Fuser Overhaet

The fuser rollers (large orange rubber rollers visible with top cover open) are getting too hot, or the temperature sensor/wiring is faulty and misreading the temperature. Assuming sensor is okay, check the exhaust fan is running and expelling warm air as over time it will clog with dust and the fuser unit won't be cooled effectively.

User error

FUSER ERROR:

. Turn the printer off, wait 10 minutes, and then turn the printer on. 2. If the message persists, reseat the fuser. If that does not work, replace the fuser. To check the fuser, turn the printer off and remove the fuser. Measure the resistance between the fuser connectors. If it is not within the proper range, replace the fuser. If there is not continuity between the fuser connectors neutral and hot with the fuser removed, replace the fuser. If the problem is not related to the fuser, replace the engine controller board.

Engine Fuser Low Heat Error

Basically the error message is telling you the printer cannot keep the fuser temperature at the proper temperature (too low). It could be a lot of things but typically it is due to a fuser assembly gone bad.
