Have a Model DU1055XTPT4 Dishwasher purchased in early 2007. Dishwasher starts cycle, fills and then just hums. The lights on the control panel are normal - no flashing. Washer can be drained with cancel so the pump is OK. Any advice?

From the information you have provided your Frigidaire dishwasher fills with water and then the motor will not run to complete the cycle. This could be an issue within the control panel or motor of the dishwasher. Which lights are flashing on the control panel of the dishwasher? Can you provide me with your model number as well? Sounds like you have a bearing going out. It could be in the system pump or the rotating washing arms. I would suggest getting ahold of Kitchenaid's customer support and relay when during which cycle the noise occurs and they should be able to identify whats going wrong.

Do you ever hear the fill solenoid click on to begin the filling. That is the first thing that has to occur. The water supply generally connects right to that solenoid. Ohm out the solenoid coil. ( breaker power off)

Yes, probably a control board, or wiring to the valve from the board. Call Whirlpool with your model and serial number, if the manufacturing date is within the last year, they will cover the repair without a date of purchase. If the hum sound is coming from the bottom panel then it is the moto that has gone bad and needs replacement. However, if you hear the sound from the control then it can be due to a bad relay in the control and it is recommended to replace the control completely. If you hear a hum when it should be washing, the motor has seized. Replace motor. If it fills with water and stops quite, run it through a test using the tech sheet under the bottom panel to access. These dishwasher have had issues with the motor.

Hi, Have your freind check and see if the water supply line under the sink has been turned on. The hum you are hearing could be the inlet valve. Please let me know if this has been helpfull or if I can assist you further.

Watch the light closely. If it blinks 7 times then pauses, this indicates a heater or door latch issue.
Press the following buttons in sequence: Hi Temp Wash, Heated Dry, Hi Temp Wash, Heated Dry, Hi Temp Wash.
If this doesn't work, check the tech sheet. (should be stuck to inside of the bottom toe panel)

All lights should illuminate then a diagnostic sequence will start.
Listen carefully, as soon as you hear the water begin to fill, open the door and feel the heater. if cold, check the heater for continuity (should be around 10ohms)
Also, bend the door catch on the dishwasher tub downward, this will engage the door latch better. Don't bend too far as it will hit the door while closing.
