Hdmi is auto detecting and shouldn't need to be turned on. try plugging your hdmi1 device into the hdmi2 slot. if switching devices around doesn't get hdmi2 working, that jack is likely broken. all the hdmi ports go into the 1 main board inside, and a lot of times you would have to replace that board to fix. if only 1 jack now works, you could also get an hdmi switcher, and then plug all your devices into that, and then just plug the switcher into the working jack. let me know if I you require further assistance.

No sound from hdmi2 my hdmi1 is saying no signal so when I switch it to hdmi2 it gives picture but no sound is there a way to make sound come from hdmi2 im using firestick

Have you tried plugging the Firestick into HDMI 1? The Firestick has its own volume control on the remote... is that turned up? You can also press the up button (above the OK) in certain apps to increase volume. If that fails I would check sound settings in the firestick and select "passthrough", "bitstream" or "PCM" to see if it allows sound to your TV. Are you using the HDMI dongle with your Firestick? If so, you may want to plug in in without the dongle as sometimes these have issues.

Can't keep the HDMI2 setting for watching streaming channels - TV automatically reverts to HDMI1

That's because you have connected another device in HDMI1, the TV detects it as power on, and then change HDMI2 to HDMI1.

Try to power off the device in hdmi1, or you can even try to change HDMI2 to HDMI1 port ;)

Switching from HDMI2 watching computer back to HDMI1 to TV channels I have no picture coming on the TV. Why ?

Look if there is a FIRMWARE update for your model of TV and the SAORVIEW.

Many a times, the TV lock in with the frequency and will not release until the proper reset command arrives.

Try switching to a different resolution on the computer before you switch HDMI port

Cable is connected to HDMI1. When Tv is turned on, the screen is corrupted/distorted. Color is messed up, wavy vertical lines, from middle of the screen down. But there is sound. What is wrong/ how can we...

Try first by using another port. Select HDMI2 and select proper "Input" from remote. If you get the same results, cheap HDMI cable. Replace it. If it is only on HDMI1, then there is a problem with the contacts. Warranty or just use HDMI2, 3 or 4 etc. Worse case senerio, you can use the 5 cable component cables as they can also carry HD signals.

Can't see or listen to stb when changing input source and go back

Maybe the STB detects that there is nothing "listening" on the other end of HDMI and turns its output off. Does it work again if you turn off+on the STB without touching receiver?

Can't change from HDMI2 back to HDMI1

You need to change via tv selections option for tv, this should be possible by selecting the source for tv feed. This should give various options to select hdmi11, hdmi12, scart1 ect. If remote not working to change look on the tv itself for the control buttons, normally on the back to 1 side (rh from front) then pressing the correct button. If this does not work try turning power off to tv for a couple of minutes and then turning back on. Hope this helps.
