Hi dear all! Got such an issue - I burn films downloaded from the Internet on DVD using my laptop, then play them on my DVD player. They do play but not until the end of the film. What's the reason? The downloads are complete if played on laptop. I put 2 or 3 films on one DVD depending on their size. Thanks!

Sounds like the compression or codac used is not right for the file type you are burning. try 1 movie per disk see if there's a issue seeking.

SOURCE: burner downloaded film

Some new films that are downloaded have inbuilt protection to stop them being burnt and mass produced. I think this is your problem.

You have to be an absolute expert to change this, totally not easy!!!

When i have downloaded a film or something on a dvd-r how do i finalize it .and i am wanting it play on my dvd player so i can watch it on my tv

Hi there is a very good software called DVD flick, you can use it to burn AVI files (and other files) i believe to an DVD disk or as an ISO for later burning.

The disk will play on any DVD player i believe.

I have downloaded a film from itunes which i have tried to copy to a dvd disc,my dvd player will not play it ?

You need to use a converter to burn it to DVD. DVD's players dont traditionally play compressed files. You can use AVS4YOU

Thanks

My Acer Aspire 5315 does not play DVD films.

Hi,
to play dvd films, ensure your laptop has a media-player installed. i.e windows media player 9-10-11 et,c. also you could check in My computer/control Panel/system/device manager to see if there any yellow exclamation marks, next to any devices. if there are. you,ll need to re-install drivers for the device.

if this solves your problem, please rate as fixya.

thankyou for using the forum.

Ibm t23 laptop dvd rom not reading some dvds

Sounds like you need a DVD decoding software, ie... winvid, interdvd, and powerdvd. Windows media player will play some DVD's, but many DVD's, especially newer ones, need an additional decoder in order to work. You will be able to find the software at filehippo.com, download.com, or IBM's support site. Keep in mind that burning software, ie... nero, roxio, and dvd shrink, have decoders in order to burn the DVD, so they will work as a decoder in conjunction with your media player.

Dvd decoder

I believ you can find a decoder at filehippo.com Keep in mind that DVD burning software will work even if you don't have a burner, just delet the icon from the desk top for burning, your media play will use the decoder in it. The burning software has a decoder in order to read then burn.

Dvd

it all depends on wot u used to burn it, and wot type of dvd player u have, there r diff ways to get it to play, on a normal dvd player u will either need to encode the movie file into a vcd and put it on a cd or encode to dvd format and burn it onto a dvd using programs like nero or roxio
