Hey there danny4c, the program Nero is usually included with the purchase of a dvd burner. This can only help if your film is in the correct format (ISO or VTS). if this is not the case then you will need a file converting program such as ConvertXtoDVD or Winavi. I find having both helps solve most conversion problems. Both of these programs have their own burning abilities. Be careful to indicate the format you need to play on your Player. NTSC or PAL. If your file is already in VTS, in Nero you can go to Nero Express or Vision, and the menus let you decide what kind of disk you will be burning. Choose video on the left and then Dvd-video file on the right. The rest is just following prompts. I hope it helps. Good Luck!

It all depends on wot u used to burn it, and wot type of dvd player u have, there r diff ways to get it to play, on a normal dvd player u will either need to encode the movie file into a vcd and put it on a cd or encode to dvd format and burn it onto a dvd using programs like nero or roxio

  • Anonymous Jan 27, 2008

u will need a program called roxio or nero to encode the film for u, i personally think roxio is easier to use, roxio/nero will change the file into the right format for it to play on ur dvd player

Most DVD player can't read open session discs, meaning when you burn your DVD movie there's an option there that when your disc is not full you can still add files on it, it's open session, in your case if you want to play it on dvd player you must select the finalize the disc to close the session and you can play it in any dvd player you want.

you must remove the region lock off the DVD image you're trying to burn make it region free. your DVD player might have locks on which DVD regions you can play, your DVD writer doesn't come with a region lock that's why you're able to play the disc

I burnt a video to a DVD+R DL but not playing on my DVD player?

You don't need to format the disc, as it does this during the burn process. What you may find is that your NEC dvd player does not play DVD+R. If you can, re-burn the video on a DVD-R 8.5GB.

You can also compress the video to fit on 4.7GB dvd. Download a program called DVD Shrink 3.2. Put the disc you burnt in the drive, and run DVD Shrink. This will analize the film, and all you need to do is click on Re-Author and lower the compression. It even has a line to show how big the video will be on the disc. On a 4.7GB dvd, you don't want this any higher than 4,430MB.

Hope those work

My Acer Aspire 5315 does not play DVD films.

Hi,
to play dvd films, ensure your laptop has a media-player installed. i.e windows media player 9-10-11 et,c. also you could check in My computer/control Panel/system/device manager to see if there any yellow exclamation marks, next to any devices. if there are. you,ll need to re-install drivers for the device.

if this solves your problem, please rate as fixya.

thankyou for using the forum.
