Is this a window unit? Sounds like the compressor may be cutting on and off. That would cause the alternating air temp you are feeling. Make sure the condenser fan is running. If it isn't running head pressure will build up on the compressor until it shuts down. Then the pressure will equalize and the compressor will kick on again. Also check your filters and the condenser coil to make sure it is clean. Let me know what you find.

What p6 error code mean on a senville aura minisplit

I have an 2 zone outdoor unit. 2x 9000 btu Aura indoor units. Both on 16ft lines. When i installed the first indoor unit and ran the setup the system would shut down every few mins and then restart after a while. Error code P6 would flash and the run and timer lights would alternate.
First assumed a defective compressor or so but after hooking up 2nd unit it went away. Seems that hooking Both units up to a 2 zone is required otherwise the compressor sends a fault code P6.

try to check your compressor if working if not check electrical parts like capacitor. overload if defect replace. also try if compressor working observe the condensing unit fan blowing hot air if not theres possibilities of leakage of refrigerant gas need for braze leak then recharge refigerant gas. or possible compressor loose compression need for replacement.

Light is on, temp is set to cool, but the unit is NOT cool. The unit is 10 years old.

as old as the unit is the compressor has most likley gone bad. For this size compressor the replacement should not cost that much. You can call an appliance repair shop and let them know you unit and that you need a new compressor installed they should be able to quote you a cost on replacement.
Good luck hope this helped

How to locate and replace defrost timer. Seems to stick in defrost mode.

Your unit is not a self defrosting freezer and consequently has no defrost timer. There are only four components required for cooling in your unit. The temperature control, behind the knob in the cabinet. The compressor at the back bottom. The start relay and overload in a box attached to the compressor. The run capacitor attached to the start relay. A failure of any of those will cause the compressor not to run.

Check the wall outlet to be sure you have power.

If the compressor IS running but not cooling, the compressor itself may be defective or the gas charge may have leaked out. Compressor and refrigeration problems are likely beyond your capabilities in terms of knowledge and equipment.

The temperature control may be tested by all connecting the wires of the control to ONE terminal after unplugging the freezer and marking down teh original locations of the wires. If the compressor runs and cools after this by-pass then change the control and return the wiring to the original locations.

If the above does not make the compressor run the next possibility is changing both the relay/overload assembly AND the run capacitor. If these fail to correct the problem you need a new compressor but you will likely NOT be able to return the parts replaced.

Good Luck

Ac units in apt. is fully charged, but it blows cool to cold air and will constantly run all day with out shutting off. at night when it cools off outside it will run like its supposed to. the fan unit...

Your ac thermostat is defective and not switching off the compressor resulting in excess cooling and need replacement. Also ensure that all doors and windows are closed. Could be some window is opened behind the curtain without your knowledge. That could be yet another reason for your unit continuously running.
Finally check your relay unit and this should solve your problem!

Noisy unit, not cooling well, water drip from air intake

First please check the air filter and clean it and refix it.
Please check the refrigerent level next if it continues. Refrigerent leak will result in poor cooling and enhance the noise level.
The compressor could be defective and might take high power to run and only replacement of the compressor could improve the working condition.
In case the unit is more than 5 years old it is wise to replace it with a new unit and save your power bill.

REPLACE COOLING FAN ASM

well if your condenser fan shot out, i'd advise that you shouldn't use the unit but all your doing buy putting the fan is doing the job of the defective one. but your causing more stress to the compressor and system, your forcing it to "work overtime" so technically you are cutting the compressor's life
