Question about Frigidaire 6500-BTU Window Room Air Conditioner ENERGY STAR LRA074AT7
I have a frigidaire AC unit that will power on but then kicks off in a minute or two and you have to reset the power ....why
Good Afternoon Friend,
I understand your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# LRA074AT7, which keeps tripping the reset button. I see that it will start up and then trips the reset button after a minute or two. First, be sure the electrical service is adequate for the model you have chosen. This information can be found on the serial plate, which is located on the side of the cabinet and behind the grille. Secondly, be sure the air conditioner is properly grounded. To minimize shock and fire hazards, proper grounding is important. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards. Lastly, your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper receptacle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
-Best Regards-

compressor has gone to ground. In other words the reason the reset button trips is to prevent any electrical shock due to the compressor going bad. Only way to fix this is to have the compressor replaced

Hi,
The drain holes in the bacl are plugged with dirt...
pull the A/C out and check for the blockage and remove it so that the unit will drain properly.
The drain holes are usually in the back corners...
