Hi There, Can someone please help me! As I mentioned earlier that I am given a SONY DCR PC 101E camcorder. It came with a fire wire cable. May I know how do I download my video to my Windows 7 OS laptop (come with fire wire jack)? After downloaded the video, how do I burn into DVD?

Hi - It's pretty easy. You would use the I.Link (Sony calls it) connector which is actually fire wire. So you would need a fire wire cable (about five dollars or so) between the camera and Mac, load up the built in Imovie software and you'll be ready to go.

The Batteries do fail if a camera has been un-used for a year or so, you can however buy these at Maplin Electronic shops, look on the net for your nearest dept store.

Hello my friend, yes had same problem, I had hair when it happened to me, now bald hi hi, but you need to go into the PC Control panal, go to System settings, look down a long list eg Sound, Drives, Mouse, etc look at Cameras, if your camera is in the list highlight it, and delete driver with clicking you mouse on it, come out of control panal on PC, REMOVE ALL camera cables from PC, turn off your PC in normal way.
Now when your PC is OFF plug your fire-wire cable in camera, then to the PC, turn camera on, and THEN turn your PC on (MUST BE LAST THING YOU DO) then once your PC is fully rebooted and you are in windows your camera is seen all done.

you can use both USB( version is mentioned in your manual) or firewire

hi .. for a sony , you need only the original firewire cable .. others won't work.. by the way firewire drivers are pre-installed in XP ..
i had the same problem but i fixed it by bringing the original sony firewire cable..

It might be the dew sensor, try blowing it shortly with hot air using hair dryer, if the same entire mechdeck should be replaced. thanks
