Changed ink cartridges and error 0xc18a0001 will not go away no matter what I do. I have followed the instructions for unplugging and holding ok/cancel then plugging back in and it still doesn't work.

I want to print a 4 x 6 inch photo on the 4 x 6 inch photo paper but not using my memory card. I no longer have what I want on the memory card but I have a copy of the photo I want to print in a computer file. How can I get it to be pinted on the 4 x 6 paper rather than printing on an 8 1/2 x 11 page and having to cut it out.

The printer does an Error code 0xc18a0001 Ink failure and the computer doesn't seem to take the printer on I plug it in and out doesn't matter it's just like if I wouldn't plug in any new...

Hello,

TO clear the error and return the printer to working order you will need to do an ink purge and reset. The problem is caused by air in the ink cartridges. This can happen if you use refilled cartridges or if you let the ink run to low and try to print something. Here is a link to an article that explains what has happened and how to solve the problem.

Ink system has failed. Error:0xc18a0001 my printer is HP Photosmart 8250All-in-One System Failure) I refer to printer documentation Error:0xc18a0001 Turn power off, then on again. I dId this command but...

Try taking out the cartridges, and turning off then unplugging the printer. Leave it unplugged for about five minutes, the plug it in. Wait a few more minutes, and turn it on. Wait for it to completely start up, then put the cartridges back in (make sure you are putting them in correctly, I think this is your product here). If it still shows the error, contact HP customer service. They will probably say something similar, though.

ERROR 0xc18a0001 Ink system has failed Quite new

Try the link below. This error is related to air in the lines between the print head and the cartridges. It is quite common and HP are very aware of this.

What is printhead failure on my HP Photosmart C6100 series printer? and how can I fix it permanently?

The print-head is the "heart" of an ink-jet printer -- it pulls the ink from the ink-cartridges, and sprays the ink onto the paper.

If the "manufacturer-warranty" has expired, it is time to buy a new unit, and to responsibly recycle the old unit.

Ink system failure error telling me to refer to printer documentation error 0xc18a006

Hello,

The "Ink system failure" error is caused by air in the ink feed tubes, this happens if you use poorly filled cartridges or allow you cartridge to run all the way out. We have a step by step guide to purge the ink feed tubes posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/category/printer-repair/hp-printer-repair/ This should get your printer back going in about 10 minutes.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

I called HP for troubleshooting assistance. My printer HP All- in-One is only 2 years old. They were very nice to run through a series of steps with me...only to tell me that "It is broken" and I will need to buy a new one. So that's my solution for today....Which leads me to the next question...Do I get another HP or something else??
