Try removing the battery and leaving it out for 30 minutes, This should do a hard reset. If that doesn't restore the touch screen then you probably need to send it to HP for repairs. A new screen cost me over $300 some years ago.

Have you already performed a clean reset? You might know that it will restore your device to its factory settings, thus deleting everything you have installed, as well as your personal data and settings. So, it is strongly recommended to backup your data beforehand.
Anyway, to perform a clean reset, press and hold the Calendar, Power, and Messaging buttons, and, whilst keeping them pressed, press and hold the reset pin with the stylus pen. When your device restarts, release the buttons and the stylus pen from the reset pin.
Hope it works for you.
Cheers! Carlos

How do I get my Iphone touch screen to respond if resetting it is not working?

A nonresponsive IPod touch touch screen can usually be resolved by updating to the latest IOS version. If the device has already been updated, the client would then want to restore the IPod touch to the original factory settings. Should restoring the device and the completion of basic troubleshooting http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1827 fail to resolve the issue, the problem is most likely hardware related. Apple strongly discourages end-users from performing hardware replacement on their devices.

I would suggest calling 1-800-myapple to determine whether this device is under warranty or not.

Hint: If Apple 2nd level phone support were to learn that the malfunctioning device was causing any type of electrical shock when handled, they have a standing policy to replace the device immediately. This is replacement policy is done for legal purposes and is mostly done without question; however, if this is regarding an older device, the client may need push for the replacement.

Brother pr-600 screen not responding

See if you can discover how to reset the machine. Typically it is a combination of buttons pressed either simultaneously or in order as the machine is starting.

Touchscreen not responding.

There are three levels of fixes, please try them in order:
1. Reset the GPS using the Reset button, on the back, just under the Antenna Hinge. Resetting will turn off the GPS, and then turn it back on, if connected to power. Test, if fixed, great, otherwise, go to fix 2.
2. Turn the power off, then press and hold the powerbutton for up to 2 minutes. The GPS will turn on, and display a "PreBoot Mode" message. When that message disappears, and the screen calibration screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions, and you are fixed. If you still cannot use the touch screen, repeat fixes 1 and 2 several times, just to be sure., then go to fix 3
3. The touch-screen glass has probably broken or lost its connection with the GPX motherboard. You can order new touch screen glass on the web and install yourself, if you are techy in nature, otherwise do a search for "garmin nuvi 660 repair" and choose your service.

Touch screen on Palm Z22 does not respond

The Data on your Z22 is rock-solid safe, but unlike the answer that states to do a RESET- DO NOT ! The touch screen problem has nothing to do with resetting, it is a failure of the soft plastic top layer of the touch screen. There is a tiny, remote possibility that the logic circuits are out of sync and the touchscreen really is mixed up in a software state, and a SOFT RESET may reset the touch screen, but this is almost unheard of ( but does happen).
I have an entire page on the Z22 and how to maintain, repair and interface it. It is at:
kidbots.com/WEBADD/Z22_PALM_PILOT/Z22_PALM_PILOT.html

I would suggest trying a few tricks listed on my web page, and see if you can get the screen to work again. It is IMPERATIVE to get a hard plastic cover over the screen to keep it working!

Please read over the information on the Z22 page.

good luck

Areas of screen not responding to touch

The digitizer is defective and needs to be replaced.

You can find digitizer parts in ebay or other on-line companies, at reasonable prices.

Regarding the labor cost, depending of the repair shop you choose, it may be cheap or expensive.

Also, if you have minimum experience and skills in fixing electronics, you can try it. really is not so difficult, and minimum set of tools are needed for it

This is straight from Palm Support...
1.Press and hold the UP button on the front panel of your device.

2.While holding the UP button, use an unfolded paper clip, or the reset tool at the tip of your stylus, to gently press the RESET button inside the hole on the back of your device

3.The Palm Computing Platform screen will appear. Release the UP button when you see it.

Megellan Roadmate 700, touch screen not working, if it works takes too long!

Mthomas, Although I can't think of any quick fix, if you have a cd of the software version that you've installed then try re-installing that. if nothing else, access the secret " " menu and reset user data, you'd be amazed at how much that can fix at times. At user menu (after reset) press "-" and repeat key at the same time. select "reset user data". If you can get it to the touch screen calibration test, then it could respond. (eventhough it's not working otherwise) Good Luck, DanEz007
