You can simply follow the first 3 steps of this (http://iris.nyit.edu/oit/academic/FAQ/faq/2wireless/20026/20026.pdf) tutorial. After that, you should see your home wifi name in the list (as in the photo in the tutorial.). If it's not showing up, you can try to change your home wifi settings to accept both 802.11b standart and 802.11g standart. (Because your device only supports 802.11b standart). Steps of changing these settings of a wirless modem changes from manufacturer to manufacturer. I hope this helps.

ask HP? they made it, its super old and obsolete now. see my link below on the free manual
the manual covers this, why not just read it
or ask HP, first. the reset does kill all data.
there I warned you.

ask them and expect lots of head scratching, something this old

my guess , take out both batteries,?
and then it lost everything, ? can be pain to find the reload files.
big pain after that.

HP iPAQ HX2795... | Answered on Mar 06, 2018

its old , most are dead now. and 14 years old this PDA is.
there can be 2 batteries inside, big one and tiny, some have solder in ,tiny battery,
did you try new batteries, or old.? (or new old stock bat)?????
there is no support for Ipaq, at HP, zero.
you can ask on there forum real, why ask here, ask there at HP real.
links, RTM? yet? here it is , non HP site , free.

my guess is you didnt RTM first. ? here I quote the manual.
"The iPAQ Pocket PC also has a small internal backup battery that
allows you to change the main battery without losing RAM data
(user-installed programs and data) as long as it is replaced within
15 minutes. The internal battery can only be removed by
qualified HP Technical Support."

ask HP real yet here they are (posted 1000s of times)

now the real HP, not fake, not spam ,not scalpers
HP.com (the forum) there is no IPAQ support now. just talk !

HP iPAQ HX2795... | Answered on Feb 24, 2018

it's broken, get it fixed ! (omg labor costs huge)
if wanting to spend huge cash on something worth
$1 dead or $5 working right, (I see these for $1 at goodwill)
then buy new batteries first. All have a big one and some a well hidden tiny one inside, and both are bad this old for sure.

ever seen a 14 year old battery work, ? that is the age now.
2018, why thing any battery lasts that long.?????

HP iPAQ RX1710... | Answered on Feb 23, 2018

its a RETIRED product
ok so make HP day as them for files , now deleted.
get it repaired, at 100x its value?
why, mess with any IPAQ. ever.?
it has zero street value now. why? why not get used smart phone for $10 and work that?

HP iPAQ hw6945... | Answered on Feb 19, 2018

yet another useless Ipaq, relic.
ok, what now.?

no it cant. it's a PDA , it is not a phone.
it can do wifi, if lucky most cant.
wifi is an option sold new.... so can be missing.
even with it most modern routers block it.

why not just buy and old smart phone.
use that.
avoid PDA like the plague.

HP iPAQ 110... | Answered on Feb 15, 2018

old mixed with the new. this toy PDA is 14 year old today.
do you own the router or the ISP or phone company?
you mean wifi, wireless has many forms!
the new router is using security that the old IPAQ cant do.
you have 2 choices
1: change THE ROUTER to weak encryption (and risk all other computers using it)
2: or get rid of the IPAQ, they are junk now. old and obsolete and no support, HP retired them, as legacy status.

if your read the manual for the IPAQ, it clearly shows its limits.
spec. 802.11b
WEP 64/128-bitcompliant to IEEE 802.11Compliant to 802.1X (EAP-TLS,PEAP)WPA

see the lack of WPA2?
if you set up your router to be wpa2 only as most folks do for
max security and ISP do,, no IPAQ like this works.

to others reading the battery just pops out on this newer model
then see a white sticker that sticker shows if your PDA
was opted with wifi and or bluetooth, there.

on the pda menus , labeled WIFI
make sure all off is not set to on, on main screen
click settings.

chapter 7 in the manual covers this.
turn it on
turn off ipaq wifi power saving mode, or it will fail.

the 3 lines in read below
must match your routers setting.
for example min router has WEP turned off so i cant get hacked.
wep is no longer secure.

it can connect
but the rules are very restrictedhttps://www.manualslib.com/download/850185/Hp-Ipaq-Rx3000-Series.htmldu,

HP iPAQ RX3100... | Answered on Feb 12, 2018

try replacing both batteries, not just one
this things old ' 14 years old in fact.
some have a tiny coin cell battery to inside./

why expect any battery to last that long?

HP ended support long ago (after 10 years it ends)
did you ask on HP forum first and not here, we are NO HP here.

here is real HP , this is not spam or the link its the real deal

HP iPAQ RZ1710... | Answered on Feb 07, 2018

time to upgrade, this thing is obsolete now, zero HP support.
the thing this old has 2 batteries not 1, and both are bad.
now , as expected.
nice ASR33 , teletype terminal you have there, clear caps.
are you running on PDP-8 computer? from DEC (defunct too)

HP iPAQ HX2750... | Answered on Feb 07, 2018

have you tried another Power Charger?

HP iPAQ h6325... | Answered on Feb 04, 2018

send it back
these PDA devices are now legacy, what good is it.
buy a used smart phone,, 10x better, really 100.
end less apps. on cell.
it will need a new main battery and the tiny one too,.
all do this old.,
id send it back.

HP iPAQ RX3115... | Answered on Jan 29, 2018

Are you using the factory adaptor to charge the device? The reason I ask is that some aftermarket chargers don't have the required amperage output on the USB port to charge some devices. If you are using an aftermarket charger, try purchasing one from HP directly or look for a charger with a USB port power rating of 4-5 amp. They can be purchased on eBay or Amazon for around $10.

HP iPAQ H4355... | Answered on Jan 19, 2018

this thing is old, and obsolete now, HP has no support
but you can ask there, on their forum.. HP.com is HP.
fixya is not HP, ok?
the UUID is your PC(device) serial number.
what are you expecting this relic of the past to do?? name one thing here.

ask at the real deal, Hp.com
here they are, you may get laughs and jeers, so.... heads up.

HP iPAQ 210... | Answered on Jan 17, 2018

this is an obsolete product,
the answer is simple they must match.
we dont know how you setup your router, or even if
you have access to it? or is owned by you or ISP.
but no mater,
this old device, is well like old and crude wifi.
back then some only do WEP encryption, (now banned)
so vast old devices (ipaq and millions of old laptops dont work)
but why risk your home , using this device,
if you are forced down to WEP then the home is not secure.
is that good, you tell me.
if all you do is cruise the web and play games, you dont care
but if like me do on line investing, H3LL no. repeat 3 times.

why not ask the poor guys at HP for help.
or tell what router you have. name and number (even revision fW)
best is run wpa or WPA2 encryption
and a strong pass phrase.

i am not reading your old IPaq manual and is hard to find, free.
endless scaplers selling books lots in stinking germany.
HP deleted it this book long long ago.
most of this Ipaqs are in the trash now, for good reasons.
not saying it cant work.
so match them
router to IPQ

some of these (newer) do WPA
so if yours shows that, then set your router
to wpa/wpa2, (means both work)
aes only , avoid TKIP

short answer. ( post the router model and number)
mine is (AP point only) AC1900 D-link and has no WEP allowed
so if took a IPAQ set to wep here, it fail HARD.
