See if my Clutch Fix post will help. I also have links to Service Manual which will be big help. The drive belt can be walked on the Clutch Pulley but it is a very snug fit even with the drive belt tension bolt loosened. Watch you fingers as you walk the drive belt onto the clutch pulley….Rich
.Disconnect the power cord of the Maytag Neptune washer from the wall outlet.Insert a putty knife between the front and top panels directly under the lid seam on the right corner.Press in to disengage the right retaining clip and repeat the process for the left side.Lift the front of the Neptune washer top panel and raise it until it rests on the rear hinges.
.Remove the two screws on the inside back of the front panel that connect the front panel to the sides with a Phillips-head screwdriver.Pull the top of the front panel forward slightly and raise the front panel up to disengage the bottom "J" clips.
.Loosen the drive motor tension bolt with a socket wrench. The tension bolt is to the left of the motor.Slide the motor in slightly to loosen the belt tension.Roll the belt off of the drive pulleys.
.Roll the new belt over the motor and drive pulleys.Pull the motor back to apply tension to the belt and secure the tension bolt with the socket wrench. It may be necessary to angle the handle of a hammer between the mounting bolts on the motor to keep tension applied to the belt while you are tightening the tension bolt.
.Set the front panel back into the "J" tab at the bottom of the Maytag Neptune.Line the top of the front panel to the side attaching holes and secure the front panel with the retaining screws.Lower the top panel and press down on the front corners to engage the retaining clips. Plug the Maytag Neptune washer cord back into the wall outlet.
