For clock turn key on and stereo off. Press and hold the function button for 3-5 seconds. the clock should appear with the hours flashing. Use the up-down buttons to set hours. Push the right button to set the minutes. Now turn on the stereo with the source (or power) button and your done!
Remember key on stereo off. hold function, the rest will become second nature once you've done it a few times.
Tuner pre-sets are super easy. Tune to the station you want and then just hold the # button (1-6) that you want that station on for about 3 seconds. The channel your on, (e.i 104.9) will flash a couple of times and then stop flashing. When it stops flashing it's in the memory. Tune your next channel and hold # 2,3,4,5,6, If 6 isn't enough push BAND and your on FM-2 with 6 more pre-sets, Push it again for FM-3 with 6 more presets. Push it a 3rd time for the AM band with 6 pre-sets and one more time to get back to FM-1.

It will not timer-record some channels such as Channel 5-2 and 9-2. I can manually record on those channels, but when I try to record using timer programming, it won't record those channels.

If Toshiba offered you a refund due to the alleged bug, I doubt that there is a work around to the problem. If it had been a regular tuner I would have suggested that you scan all the channels to commit them to memory.

The problem basically is that those channels re not in the recorder's tuner memory. You can enter them manually but when you try to use the programming the unit will not do it since channels are not in memory. Check your manual to see if there is a provision for getting channels into the memory of the unit. Don't hold your breath.

GV42L vizio tuner

Your vizio has an internal digital tuner. When you are on air, make sure that it is set up for digital. It might say DTV. Some sets have an analog only and digital only program option in the user menu, or as a seperate input. When in doubt, check your user manual.

CANNOT GET PHILIPS DVDR3305 TO RECORD ON PANASONIC TV.TX-L37D25B WHILE WATCHING ANOTHER CHANNEL?.

What is your source? Since the DVDR3305 has an analog PAL tuner and most TV stations are broadcasting in digital, you probably have some sort of set top box connected to the recorder. If you change the channel on the set top box, you will record the program on the new channel. If you are recording PAL and your TV has a PAL tuner, you should be able to just record one show while watching another with the DVDR3305 daisy-chained to the TV. Just make sure to change the TV channel not the channel on the DVDR3305.

If your TV has a digital tuner, you can split the signal before the set-top box to record one channel and watch another. (Note: basic splitters will cause some extra loss of signal and may reduce a digital signal below the threshold needed to tune in the signal. An amplified splitter can avoid this - when the amplifier is working properly.) Otherwise, you need a second set-top box (or a dual tuner set-top box).

On my set-up with an aerial antenna, I would put the splitter between the wall jack and the electronics. The incoming cable goes to the splitter, then cable 1 goes to the TV. Cable 2 goes to the set-top box. Tune the set-top box to the channel to record and check the settings with the TV set to the DVD source. (DVD set to record on Tuner (and the specific channel of the set-top box output) or front s-video or EXT1 or EXT2.) Then change the TV back to the TV source and change to the channel for the second program.

The manual for the DVDR3305 is available from Philips. The link to the manual is http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/d/dvdr3305_05/dvdr3305_05_dfu_eng.pdf .
I hope this helps.

(I actually use an A/B switch and do not try to watch a second program on the TV connected to the DVD recorder. However, most of my recordings are for time-shifting of programs that air when I can't watch any TV program.)

I have a 1988 rca demensia. Will only auto program to channel 63.How do I get it to program more channels,up to 70 at least.

You don't. The tuner was made when channels didn't go as high, so it just won't cover anything more. If you want more channels, you'll need to connect a device like a cable converter box or a VCR with a newer tuner and use that as your tuner.

Quasar VV-1300 TV/VCR will not program channels 5-15 and 22-47. I have worked with customer service who walked me through programming and resetting the TV. We also manually added these channels. I only...

If you have the unit set to cable/antenna and the channels are not locking in you may have a bad solder connections where the tuner mounts to the main circuit board, in the tuner or the tuner itself is bad. Without certain in shop tests its hard to pin point tuner problems. Depending on the age of the set a tuner may be hard to find.

Don't know how to set the time/clock.

Setting the Clock
Before operating the unit any further, first set the clock built
in this unit.
• When the unit is turned on with CD or tuner selected, press
DISPLAY first to show the clock indication.
1 Press and hold PROGRAM/SET
for more than 2 seconds.
The hour digits start flashing on the
display.
2 Press 4 or ¢ to adjust
the hour, then press
PROGRAM/SET.
The minute digits start flashing on the
display.
3 Press 4 or ¢ to adjust
the minute, then press
PROGRAM/SET.

If there is a power failure
The clock loses the setting and is reset to “AM 12:00.” You need to
set the clock again. If the batteries are inserted in the unit, this has
no effect on the memory.
To show the clock when CD or tuner is selected
Press DISPLAY.
• Each time you press the button, the display changes the clock
indication and the normal indication alternately. (Operating the
unit while clock indication is displayed change the display to the
normal indication.)

Dual toner card

You will have to install each tv turner software not different folder in the program files folder.

During the installation of the drivers and software you will be prompted with the directory where the software will be installed, on this page you should select say for eg:

for the first tv turner card C:\program files\ hp tv turner
for the second tv turner card say c:\program files \hp tv turner 2

this should be done for every directory mentioned during the installation.
other wise both the card will try to use the same driver and software files, there will be a clash, thus one one tv turner card will be viewed.

Can't get any channels on the air.\

If the tuner is the problem then it is a very bad problem as the tuner is part of the DM module and that is very expensive. When you say you have to manually key in the channels, do they work then? If so the problem is not the tuner. If your only problem is that you cannot go from one channel to the other by using the channel up and down button on the remote, then you have most likely just lost the programming on the tv. Go into menu and set up and find the auto channel programming and run auto program to correct the problem.
