Common Samsung problem with ice buildup on coils near fan. Fix: remove back panel defrost Coils, then move the frost sensor from right side of coils (clip on to coils sensor 2 wires) so that it continues defrosting if ice is present on coils by the fan. Just defrosting will only be a temporary fix. Ice will come back. Relocating sensor allows the defrost system to detect ice on coils near the fan and continue operating until fully defrosted.

Fridge problem could be the fan is bad or that it is hitting ice. When the noise is kind of a buzzing like it is hitting ice...defrost your unit by unplugging and waiting a day or so for full melt out...then check your door gaskets for cleanliness and good seal.

Thanks.

Check the cooling fan behind the unit, behind the lower panel access.

Or could be the bearings are probably wore out. If they get dry due to no lubrication they will whine while running. May just need a new fan motor.

    For such replacement:

Replaced the cooling unit as a whole. The fan blades may be out of balance or cracked. If the motor has ben seezed for some time, you may want to replace it as well. The motor was $79 alone, but $89 for the entire unit.

this is a fan in the freezer that circulates the cold air between the FZ and FF sections.

The fan motor may need to be replaced.

When freezer drawer is closed, very noisy. Noise stops when you open freezer door. Is is the fan?

It sure sounds like the fan is either just going bad or there is possibly is hitting the blades. if it is a buzzing sound then ice is probably the problem. if it is a rattle or squeal then the motor is bad.

With the doors closed, the refrigerator is making a noise like a fan rubbing. When we open the doors, the noise immediately stops

That is because the fan has no resistance when drawing in air from the outside. When the door is closed, it becomes a sealed environment, and now must circulate air from the freezer to the refrigerator compartment. Sometimes a noisy fan indicates a frost buildup and the defrost system must be serviced. This consists of a defrost timer, Defrost thermostat, and defrost heater. Any one of those 3 may need to be replaced.

Buzzing sound

If noise stops when you open the door, you may have a noisy fan (or could have ice build up, causing fan blade to hit ice and cause noise). I gather it is a frost-free model ie has a fan in the freezer compartment. If noise is caused by fan hitting ice build up, you may have a problem with the auto defrost system, as you should not get ice build up in a frost free.
Noise stops when you open door because fan turns off when door is opened.

FREEZER SOUNDS VERY NOISY

I turn off the power of refrigerator for 24 hours and defrost the frezzer. The noisy sound stopped. I think sometimes we did not close refrigerator tightly, the ice built up caused the problem.

FREEZER SOUNDS VERY NOISY

that because the internal fan is hiting the ice or has bad bushings you can hear the noise just with the door close because when you open the door there is a switch the one turns off the internal fan so when you close the door it turn on the fan again if you wants to hear that with the door open just open the door and push the botton swich with your fingers and you'll hear the noise
