Just picked up a model 27v530t set, plugged it in, wired it up turned it on with the remote and blue light came on, no screen, then power shut off, waited a minute, turned on, no screen, then shut off, what could be my problem? Unit stays on for about 10 seconds. Thanks for your time

This model set had capacitor issues in the power supply

Are you talking monitor rather than tv? I have an LG 22 inch monitor and the on off button is on the bottom, If I don't hit it right or just tap it, it won't turn off but flashes. Where do you have it plugged in? Is it with some other electronics, or right to the wall outlet? I'm really at a loss as to what your problem really is. Are you using the remote? One quick fix might be the battery's in the remote. If they don't have enough power, short or no signal will be sent to tv or not being able to decipher it.

There will be a fault somewhere, probably in the power supply and the tv has shut down into protection mode to safegaurd other components

Likely a main board issue in the set, but unplug set and box if used for a while, power back to see if a reboot has any effect.

Problem with Sony KP-57WS520 57 in. Rear Projection

This model is really prone to one problem in particular--screen even briefly comes up bright red, green or blue and set shuts down.

15 seconds from turn on front power light should blink as set checks several things internally---if something wrong it does not let picture show.

Usually after shut down or failure power light will blink a sequence of blinks but not always depending on problem.

Did you see the screen at all go red, green, or blue before?

try turning off the auto shut off feature in you set up screens . you can find them through the menu button on your remote. scroll through till you find it and turn it off.

You connected your blue alpine wire (power antenna) to your blue wire (amplifier remote on) on the BMW harness adapter. You need to undo this, amputate your blue alpine wire (because your E36 has no power antenna) and connect the alpine blue wire with white stripe (remote power) to your blue wire on the harness adapter.

When you switch source from the radio, alpine is shutting off your amplifier through the connected power antenna wire. Since you're not listening to the radio anymore, it sees no reason why it should give it power.

i would check the main board for loose connections on the horizontal ckt
