My tv comes on, the power light comes on, but it won't stay on, it goes off by itself a few seconds later. Is there a solution to this?
I have a RCA TV Model #20F424T. It is brand new. Upon turning on the TV, the power light will come on, and if I do nothing, shuts off within 5 seconds. If I press input to change which a/v's the TV uses, a thin blue bar through the center of the screen appears, changing in length depending on which input the TV is set at. On the DVD input, I can hear audio just fine, but there is no picture, just a short thin bar in the middle of the screen. Again, if I do nothing, the TV shuts off on it's own within 5 seconds, even with the audio coming through just fine. Ironically, the "Find your product:" bar is not recognizing my model number, but I've triple checked it: 20F424T. Therefore I have selected the closest in appearance.

I not sure is the same model, I know is 20'' and turflat or something. but the sympton is simiral. when turn on , after some seconds it turn off alone, an turn on again, and off and on. and some times channel search start automaticly. TV comes on when turned off, when turned on shuts off after five seconds, when left comes on for five seconds then drops out again and again. Attempt to access menue instantly drops out.

It is a brandnew tv, so expected that it is under warranty,, it best for you to return where you bought so the warraty will not void. Big possible of factory deffect.

Before going OFF, the standby LED might blink. These blinks are fault indication. The number of blink should be counted. Count the number of blinks at one time, before the TV goes OFF. [eg: 4 blinks Power SOS P Board; 6 blinks Driver SOS 1 SU / SD / SC Boards

This is a common problem with the ITC222 chassis, I would check CP120, CP140, CP150 to see if they are bad I suspect CP150 is the one that is bad. Its value is 2200uf 16VDC. It is located on the same board as the IHVT and is in between the Heat sink in the middle of the board.
After further inspection, I believe that you have a blown convergence IC. Most posts point for two IC's. I only have one. STK393-110. There are 12 - 3.9ohm 2w resistors around it . I think they may be bad as well. The 2 Pico fuses feeding that circuit (+24/-24) may be open also. So, with that said...... Think we have the problem cornered?
i have seen this before and it may be the front power button being stuck and when your remote turns it on the stuck button turns it back off again. I have an older mitsubishi that will not boot up right sometimes and i have to unplug it and plug it back in fot it to come on. I used to pick up broken tv and fix the power buton and resell them
The TV is in some kind of protection mode, the blinking LED show you an error code.
Try pressing 062596 and then press menu button (do these in quick
motion, don't let them to time out while keying)...see what happens
I also heard that this problem appeared with some people because the of
the burnt fuse in the TV. To fix that it has to be taken to the tech
shop.
