After a paper jam (I opened the printer up and pulled the paper through istead of opening the back - I forgot about it having a back!) I received this error code and the following message: "The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head." I took the print head out a couple of times and reinstalled it; nothing changed. I even uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, nothing changed. Do I need a new print head? Can I buy these, and how much do they cost?

Hi
Error 5C10 means a paper jam or the printer has
encountered an internal error. And error 6A00 is
caused due a paper jam in the sheet feed unit or near the print head. You can also reset the printer to resolve
this issue. On the printer press and hold the ON/OFF button or unplug the power
cord. Wait for 10 seconds, press power button ON/OFF button again. If this
doesn't resolve the error code then unplug the printer for 10 minutes. Also,
inspect the back panel of the printer for any paper jams. To clear the paper
jams---
Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord
and USB cable. Remove the jammed paper slowly using the following procedure.
Open the rear cover to check if the paper is jammed. Pull out the cassette and
check if the paper is jammed inside the cassette area. Stand the printer with
the rear side down, holding the document cover. Press the tabs together and
pull the green cover toward you. Check if the paper is jammed. (If you were not
doing Duplex printing, you do not have to follow this procedure.) Close the
green cover and place the printer back to a normal position. Reconnect the
power cord and power on the printer. Confirm the Alarm light is off. Load paper
back into the ASF or cassette. Press to clear the message and continue
printing. If you are printing from application software, follow the
instructions displayed on your computer. Hope this helps... Please post back if
you need more information.

I've done nothing to my printer - I only turned it on and I got the error U052 re installing the correct print head. What now? I too have also uninstalled and reinstalled everything.
I have the same problem with error code U025 on my Canon Pixma MP600R. I have made sure the cartridges are properly in place, seen the the print head and even re-installed the printer but I still get the same error message. The cartridges are all new and original ones.
Did anyone get the printer fixed? I'm having
the exact same problem and did what I could to remove and reinstall the
printer head - but nothing. ;(
Thanks!
I am having same problem: U052 "The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head." I've tried reseting, cleaning, etc.- nothing works.
I had the same problem...however, I called the Canon order department to order a new printer head. I mentioned that I had recently purchased for the first, and last, time refilled ink cartridges. The young lady with whom I spoke, told me that the refilled ink cartridges could be the problem, to replace them with new ones that had never been refilled before purchasing a new printer head. Sure hope this works.

I too had the same problem and I replaced all print cartridges with new genuine Canon rip off ink and still same problem, I am also not sure that replacing the print head will fix it and wish to not spend any more money on this house brick. Dose some one know if replaceing Print head will fix the issue ??
wrong printer head/ says to install correct printer head even though we did not change it at all.
The printer seems to boot, but the print head stays to the left and I get an error indicating a paper jam but no paper is present. All functions are inoperable.
