Error code U052

After a paper jam (I opened the printer up and pulled the paper through istead of opening the back - I forgot about it having a back!) I received this error code and the following message: "The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head." I took the print head out a couple of times and reinstalled it; nothing changed. I even uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, nothing changed. Do I need a new print head? Can I buy these, and how much do they cost?

I am having same problem: U052 "The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head." I've tried reseting, cleaning, etc.- nothing works.

  • Anonymous Aug 27, 2008

I had the same problem...however, I called the Canon order department to order a new printer head. I mentioned that I had recently purchased for the first, and last, time refilled ink cartridges. The young lady with whom I spoke, told me that the refilled ink cartridges could be the problem, to replace them with new ones that had never been refilled before purchasing a new printer head. Sure hope this works.

Had paper jam which have cleared. Getting support code 6001 saying turn off and restart which we have done but still keeps coming up with same error

The 6001 error is a generic internal error code. Unfortunately, it could mean one of many things. To resolve the 6001 error, please follow the following steps:

1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord and USB cable.

2. Remove paper from the automatic sheet feeder (in the back).

3. Gently pull jammed paper out, if any.

3-1. If paper is visible from the ASF, use both hands to pull the paper out slowly.

3-2. If paper is visible from the paper output slot, use both hands to pull the paper out slowly.

4. If the paper tears and a piece of that remains inside the printer, open the printer cover and remove the paper from inside the printer.

5. Check ASF with a bright light to check for obstructions. Remove any if found.

6. Open the rear cover to check if the paper is jammed.

7. Pull out the cassette and check if the paper is jammed inside the cassette area.

8. Load paper back into the ASF or cassette.

9. Reconnect the power cord, turn on the printer and confirm that the Alarm light is off. (If there was any jammed paper remaining in the printer, the paper may be automatically ejected.)

Machine says paper jam and to remove paper No paper in machine Cant clear error codes

Disconnect the power cord from the back of the Canon Inkjet Printer. This is an important step when working inside ANY electronic device.

Unhinge the back access panel of the printer. It seems repetitive to say this, but this door will be in the BACK of the printer.

Look through the opened back panel and look for paper. Remove any and all paper you find jammed there.

Close the back access panel. Make sure that it latches into place and looks the same way that it did before you opened it.

Find the front or top access panel. This is the panel you would lift to change ink cartridges. Open this access panel. If the carriage that holds the ink cartridges moves, then you forgot to unplug the printer, go back and do that now. Look for paper that may be jammed in this area of the printer.

Remove any paper you find jammed here. When pulling from the front there will be resistance from the paper feeder. Pull slowly or the paper will rip and create a more stressful problem.

Close the front access panel. Make sure that it falls or latches back in place. It should look the same way that it did before you opened it.

Plug the printer's power cord into the wall outlet, and attempt to print again. If the printer prints the job, then you have successfully removed the paper jam.

Paper jammed open left cover

Hello, To solve this problem try follow this steps
1. Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.

2. Turn off the printer.

3. Remove any paper trays, inspect them for wrinkled or damage paper.

4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.

5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly
The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.

7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper.

8. Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.

9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
Thanks

On printer error cod 6A00 displayed, on computer screen icon says service error 5C10. Have cleaned ink wells and wiped off excess ink. After cleaning far right side a long skinny black piece came out,...

Hi

Error 5C10 means a paper jam or the printer has encountered an internal error. And error 6A00 is caused due a paper jam in the sheet feed unit or near the print head. You can also reset the printer to resolve this issue. On the printer press and hold the ON/OFF button or unplug the power cord. Wait for 10 seconds, press power button ON/OFF button again. If this doesn't resolve the error code then unplug the printer for 10 minutes. Also, inspect the back panel of the printer for any paper jams. To clear the paper jams---

Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord and USB cable. Remove the jammed paper slowly using the following procedure. Open the rear cover to check if the paper is jammed. Pull out the cassette and check if the paper is jammed inside the cassette area. Stand the printer with the rear side down, holding the document cover. Press the tabs together and pull the green cover toward you. Check if the paper is jammed. (If you were not doing Duplex printing, you do not have to follow this procedure.) Close the green cover and place the printer back to a normal position. Reconnect the power cord and power on the printer. Confirm the Alarm light is off. Load paper back into the ASF or cassette. Press to clear the message and continue printing. If you are printing from application software, follow the instructions displayed on your computer. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.
