PROBLEM USING SCANNER

I have a mac and I can't just hit the scan button. I need to go through my settings to my printer. Then when I open the MFC printer I have to select print or scan and operate from that window. I have never been able to do anything right from the scan button on the machine

Entering Fax mode 5

To enter fax mode, press (Fax), and
the key will glow green.

The LCD will show the new job number and
the memory available.The number of pages
you can scan into the memory will vary
depending on the data that is printed on them.

Faxing from the ADF 5
a Make sure you are in Fax mode .
b Put the document face down in the ADF.
c Dial the fax number using the dial pad.
d Press Black Start or Color Start.
The machine starts scanning the
document.

Note
• To cancel, press Stop/Exit.
• If the memory is full, the fax will be sent in
real time.

Faxing from the scanner glass5
You can use the scanner glass to fax pages
of a book one at a time. The documents can
be up to letter or A4 size.

You cannot send multiple pages for color
faxes.



Make sure you are in Fax mode .

Load your document on the scanner
glass.

Dial the fax number.

Press Black Start or Color Start.
If you press Black Start, the
machine starts scanning the first
page. Go to step e.

If you press Color Start, the
machine starts sending the
document.

Do one of the following:
To send a single page, press 2 to
choose No. (or press Black Start
again).
To send more than one page, press
1 to choose Yes and go to step f.

Put the next page on the scanner glass.

Press OK.

You need to poiwer cycle after cleaning as the scanner only calibrates during power up. If all is clean, even the white bar over the small glass assembly, and you power cycle the machine and it's still there, you will need a new scan assembly.

Open up the document feeder and clean the scanner glass

Hi,
I would uninstall the dodgy mydvd program, and use Spybot to clean up the malware it has spread on your system.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie Brother MFC240c) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

The small glass surface at the top of the scanner bed had some gunk on it. I scrapped it off and the line went away! Yay!

Can you copy?
If yes, what windows system do you run and did you install the complete mfl-pro suite?
How do you connect the machine to the pc? Do you use a hub or did you connect it directly to the pc usb? The latter one is the right one for scanning.

Remove all the software. Run the worm cleaner software again Restart the computer Ensure you are off line and the Anitvirus program is disabled. Reinstall the software and follow the instruction exactly. Worms don't eat printers
