Printer keeps saying the color ink is low. I replaced the color ink, but I still get the same error. I tried cleaning the ink ports in the head with a moist Q-tip toremove any build up but that didn't change anything.

It is a Kodak Easyshare 5100 All-in-One Printer. I am using Kodak ink cartridges. It stopped printing and just throws an error that says the color ink is too low. I bought and installed the new color cartridge (which I have done several times)but I am still getting the error. I read one post that said to clean the printhead with a moist Q-tip to remove any ink build-up, I tried that with no success.

This is not yet a solution. I asked some of my colleagues that know printers better than I do and they told me that they were experiencing problems with kodak printers in the way you are. Several times they sent customer printers back to kodak and kodak sent new ones (printer failure they said). I guess you are installing the ink reservoir correctly, but it might help to review the installation process here:http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/p... You might also check and clean the printhead communication ports. For any further assistance you should better contact HP at 1-800-421-6699 (if you are from US). Good luck!

THis may be a printhead issue, go to the KODAK website and walk through the step by step identifying your problem. If it is a printhead and I think it is, they will replace and no cost to you. Do it now and stop wasting ink on other solutions.

Canon ImagePrograf 750 Error: Execute printhead cleaning. If this message is still displayed, replace the printhead. Printing stopped.

It sounds like you have already tried a few steps to address the issue. Here are a few more things you can try:
  1. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
  2. Check to make sure the printer is not in an error state. If it is, clear the error and try printing again.
  3. Try cleaning the print head manually. To do this, remove the print head and use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean it. You can also use a cleaning solution designed specifically for print heads.
  4. Check the ink cartridges to make sure they are installed correctly and have enough ink. If they are low or empty, replace them.
If none of these steps work, it may be best to contact Canon support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or offer a repair service for your printer.

Brother Printer-copy-scan-photo capture Model DCP-110C After replacing black ink and yellow ink, still says yellow ink low, and will just print out pink menu items, no message. I cleaned it 5 times. ...

place the printer cartridge into a small amount of water to make sure the yellow is flowing out. Let me know what this finds and try it again if yellow comes out.

Also, what exactly did you clean, the metal contacts?

I have tried replacing all ink cartridges with brand new ones but it keeps saying Error U052 ? I am not really sure why it won't recognize the ink cartridges especially because they are from Canon

The error code indicated, the print head is defective, so it will not get solve by replacing any number of cartridges. Just follow the steps below to reseat the print head, if that does not help, then replace the print head.

  1. Confirm that the printer is powered on and press the <Open> button. (The paper output tray will open.)

    *MP800R shown

  2. Lift the scanning unit (printer cover) completely. (The print head will move to the replacement position.)

    mp500_scanningunit_open.gif

Note: When the scanning unit (printer cover) is opened more than ten minutes, the print head moves to the right side. If this occurs, close the scanning unit (printer cover), and open it again.

  3. Open the inner cover.

  4. Remove the ink tanks by pressing the tab of each tank.

Caution: Handle the ink tanks with care so that your clothes and surrounding area do not get soiled. Make sure to remove the ink tanks one by one.

  5. Raise the print head lock lever.

  6. Tilt the print head slightly towards the front of the machine and lift out gently.

Caution: Do not touch the print head nozzles <1> , electrical contacts <2>, or ink supply ports <3>. Doing so may cause printing problems.

  7. Place the print head in the print head holder and lower the print head lock lever carefully until you hear a click.

  8. Insert ink tanks into the print head.

  9. Press the mark <PUSH> on the ink tank firmly until you hear a click.

<8> The ink tanks are not installed properly.

Note: Click for Ink Tank Lamp indications.

  11. Close the inner cover and the scanning unit (printer cover).

Caution: When closing the scanning unit (printer cover), be careful not to jam fingers.

    N
ote: The next printing begins, the print head cleaning will begin automatically.

Ink Tank Lamp indications

You can check the status of each ink tank according to the way its lamp flashes.

- On: The printer is ready to print.

- Slow flashing (at about three second interval): Ink is low. Prepare a new ink tank.

- Fast flashing (at about one second interval): Ink tank is empty, or the printer is not ready due to an error.

No black ink

Check ink levels. Control panel > printers > right click on printer and choose properties. Look for a tab that says something like color management or maybe just color. Should be an indicator of how low the ink is. If you are lucky to have one of the more translucent ink well cartridges, you might be able to remove and hold cartridge to a light to see how much is in there. If very low or empty, you'll need to replace it.

If ink is in there, reinsert the cartridge and peform a nozzle test or head cleaning. Also do a head alignment. All of these things should be options in the printer properties.

Still no black? Maybe a problem with print head and will require servicing or replacing.

HP C6280 says out of black ink

Something is wrong with your Blach carrier or connections. Use a bit of alcohol and clean the array of gold contacts where the Ink cartridge plugs in. Most of the pins are shutter and piezo control (get the ink on paper) but a few do other stuff like check ink level, # of hours runtime, etc. This is very common problem with inkjet printers. Hope this helps.
Also... rub the contacts on the printhead with a pencil eraser to make them shiny and bright.

Cheers!

Replace color cartridge

Access your printer properties and try preforming a print head or printer cartidge clean and on the machine try the print cartridge aligniment procedure.
If after you try both of those I suspect there is an issue with the print head.
If that is the case an ink jet printer is not worth repairing.
