printer won't print. most likely the print head needs replaced. had read on here that they would replace them via Kodak.

  • Anonymous Mar 24, 2014

The printer indicates printhead needs to be installed properly. Have taken printhead out and cleaned it, but have same problem.

Clarification: Remove tanks(cartridges)first. You see the bullseye target with a finger pointing to it.
Above the bullseye sticker, there's a rectangular button. Press it in until printhead dislodges.

Remove both ink tanks. Place your finger on the leftside where the black ink was. You may get ink on your finger just so you know. Move your finger to the left until you can't anymore. With the bottom part of your finger facing upwards run your finger up the back wall inside the printhead until you hit the little ledge in the back. You won't see the button, but just push up and it should push the release button. If it works the printhead should become loose so you can just take the printhead out.

Yes, there is a little button just on the top middle of the print head. push it and the head comes out very easily.

LindaPNY: I have just replace mine and it really is simple (thanks to the posts here :D) Above the pictre of a thumb and the little target is a very small button which is almost inline with the tope edge of the printhead. You have to push it quite hard and pull the printhead out at the same time. If you still can't do it mail me and I will video it :) support AT rrhosting DOT com

Printhead needs replacing in my kodak 5300 printer how can i get one

Hi..

Try here
http://www.kodak.com/global/plugins/acrobat/en/service/manuals/AiOPrinters/printhead/AUR1780-9_UE_RevC.pdf

You can find illustrated instructions on how to remove the old printhead, as well as on how to put the new printhead back in place.

You can easily go to that website by going to:
www.kodak.com/go/printheadsupport

and selecting the second option "installing new printhead".

Good Luck:-)
