Picture gone I have an RCA 52" Scenium projector T.V. that made a strange high pitched noise and then the screen went black. No weak signal message. I unplugged it for a while then plugged it back in and there was a clicking sound like a breaker or relay was trying to reset, but couldn't and finally the T.V. shut off and the power light went off. This happened once when it was under warranty and the technician had to replace something. Similar events have happened several time throughout the next few years, but were correctable by unplugging the power cord, waiting several minutes then plugging it back in, but not this time.

Yes, if I plug it in the green light comes on and the clicking sound goes for several minutes trying to reset I guess then thes set shuts off and the green light goes out. If I turn the power on again it will keep repeating this cycle.

I have the same problem with my RCA HD50LPW175 model. I heard a pop noise and then the picture went out. Now when i turn the tv on, it makes a clicking noise and shuts off by itself. No picture at all. Help.

A noise had been gradually increasing from a grinding sound to a high-pitched whine. COntinues until the screen is completely off. Sounds like a fan motor may be out of lubrication.

THAT TV HAS WHAT IS CALLED A COLOR WHEEL WHICH SPINS AT VERY HIGH RPMS AND CAN MAKE HIGH PITCHED WHINING/GRINDING NOISES IF A FAN WAS BAD THE TV WOULD SHUTDOWN AND THE SOUND WOULD BE MORE DULL SOUNDING.

The TV will bring to turn on but then it sounds like it loses power and makes a high pitch noise and powers off, no picture ever comes on the TV, the screen stays black the whole time. The TV is a RCA...

it could one of two things. The power supply is failing which is most common. Or the picture tube is gone. Both would most likely cost you more to fix than the TV is worth. Call around and get a few quotes. Good luck

High pitched whine

Ok maybe this may help .... there is a coil LL08 I believe... somtimes it creates a high pitch whine like you describe.. its stands up on the deflection board..it basicaly a large coil of copper wire....you can take silcon and put on the coil...in effect damping the ocillations...hope that might help

52 in RCA widescreen HDTV Monitor

high pitched squealing noise >> im thinking is the color wheel which will also give you the yellow color, don't know if that would also cause your screen to blank.

RCA D52W19 52 in. Rear

open it up and see if any liquid is spilled on the boards, most squeals are from the high voltage transformer and or splitter

"weak signal" on my RCA scenium

Hey! I have the same problem as you. But! this would happen only when I got a power outage. Unplug the TV for a couple of minutesand all was fine. For the last 5 day I have no TV. I have tried everything. All the out on the TV and I still get unusable signal. My rep told me to unplug for 24 Hours. Still didn't work. My menu option work as well and every time I put the TV on, off or if I change the input sound will come on for 2 seconde and stop. If I find the salution I will let you know. Gilles Ottawa
