Shouldn't have Formatted shouldn't I?

I believed i had a corrupt file on my Mp3 player. (it made my computer slow/freeze. made library issues) And so I formatted the drive (by left clicking and going to format) I learned later that you are not supposed to do this and now when I turn it on it says "No Music" Even though I put all my music back on, and made folders.

Hello

Try resetting the device by pushing a pin into the small hole for about 3 - 6 seconds. You can also try to switch on the mp3 player and format it on the mp3 player itself if you have this function. One of these to solutions should work either way.

Best regards

Powers on until power button is released then turns off

If the set does not play then powering alone will not solve the issue as the processor is faulty. check and see if a reset can solve, if not the player must be connected to a PC and checked for error files/corrupt files , which must be removed formatted and re-installed.

Mi problem is driver

This player shouldn't need a driver if your using windows it should recognise it as a general mass storage device and it should show up in my computer. Just transfer your MP3 files to the proper directory on the player. If you download videos to it they will need to be transcoded. WinFF or VLC
can do this. It can be a little tricky to transcode the video most of these players need an exact video file with the exact settings for the video and audio within the video file . AVS video converter will also transcode the video(free version leaves water marks) and may be easier to use.

Why cant i add files or remove from my transcend mp3 player?? computer is hanging if i connect it. and.. it is not getting formatted. files present are not displayed in the player.

It has a virus, could be, try reformatting the mp3 in dos, or better yet windows 98, simply the file system of you mp3 player is corrupted. after reformatting it in DOS mode, you can now reformat it in windows and then load songs.

My sansa e260 is displaying REFRESH DATABASE and the process continues so that no action can be performed.only a white light displays on the screen until the battery gets low.and a blue light displays on...

freezing at refresh database means there is a wrongly formatted or corrupt file tht you are attempting to put on your mp3 player. to fix this you simply delete whatever corrupted file it is. i, personally, had to go to settings on the mp3 player and at the bottom of the list is "format", i had to format which deletes all ur songs but fixes freezing problem. u only have to do this if you dont know what song is freezing it. if you do know, then you can go into your mp3 file folder under my computer( removable E:) and delete the song from there or you can delete it from your mp3 player via windows media player. to be ensure tht it never happens again you should just put each song on 1 at a time, disconnecting it after every 1, if it freezes again you know what song it is and you can simply delete it. i know this seems like it would take 4ever, but having to go back through and reformat every sinmgle time this happens would take even longer, so just stick with it. hope this helps

Sony NWZ-436F freezes when creating library

Old post I know, but i had a similar problem...
I think it has to do with the file types you upload - had the same issue, and through trial and error I finally noticed one album I uploading was an m4a format. When I would upload several files stepwise, making sure that the player starts after each upload, everything would be fine until I tried the m4a files - it would freeze on the creating library startup screen. This was for the same model as billybraga. Annoying.

Artist all songs is wrong

This means that your Library is corrupted and needs to be recreated this will not delete you *.omg files just you library.

Please delete your Library: Go to the Windows Explorer, and make sure to make hidden files visible (go to the Tools on the menu and click the Folder Options, then on the View tab, select the Show hidden files and folder.)
Browse to C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Corporation\CONNECT Player\Library and delete all the files located in this folder. Then, recreate a new library.

Frozen iriver x20

If your player freezes on "Building Library" (usually a result of putting certain type of .m3u playlists or too big images in id3 tag):

1. Turn the player off - you may need to take the battery out to do this.
2. Hold the menu button in.
3. Still holding the menu button in, press the power button.
4. Keep holding both buttons in until you get a dialogue asking if you want to format internal memory ... say yes.
5. Your internal memory will be formatted and you will now be able to start your X20.

Try to figure out what file is causing X20 to freeze - i've found that pretty much any .m3u file will make it freeze on building library ... only about 2-3 out of about 100 i've tried have worked.
