If your player freezes on "Building Library" (usually a result of putting certain type of .m3u playlists or too big images in id3 tag):
1. Turn the player off - you may need to take the battery out to do this. 2. Hold the menu button in. 3. Still holding the menu button in, press the power button. 4. Keep holding both buttons in until you get a dialogue asking if you want to format internal memory ... say yes. 5. Your internal memory will be formatted and you will now be able to start your X20.
Try to figure out what file is causing X20 to freeze - i've found that pretty much any .m3u file will make it freeze on building library ... only about 2-3 out of about 100 i've tried have worked.

I had this problem with a android phone myself unfortunately you may have to get another one. but try this out. hold down the up volume and power but until the phone shuts off, that should put the phone in super user mode. once it goes in reset mode ( you'll know because there will be a little android on the screen. Then just power off by holding down the power button again and let the phone come back on.
try to upload the songs onto it with windows media player 11
i only use iriver plus 3 for videos
when ur in windows media go into sync then it has like a side bar just drag the music into that and down the bottom of the bar it says sync press that
and if that doesnt work u might have to buy a new one
Open up iTunes, connect the iPhone. Hold down the power button for 3 seconds, hold both power button and home button for 10 seconds, release power button while still holding down the home button. This puts your iDevice into DFU mode, so it can be restored using iTunes.
yea the iriver x20 isn't very reliable when it comes to video files. there could be like 10 things wrong with the codec and even if u fix all of them it doesn't help. your best bet is to convert to wmv using the iriver program or another program like winavi converter. its really fustrating i know but its just how the iriver works.
yes this is correct, you can only have the same size memory card as what your iriver was originally. eg when I bought mine it was a 2GB so there for I could only add a 2GB memory card in it giving me a total of 4GB. if you buy a SD card of the same GB you wont have a problem
does the message stop you from using the iriver?
if it doesn't then there's a format function on the iriver in the settings menu...
if it does then there may be a problem with the usb connection...
either the iriver isnt responding or the computer can't read it!
for the user below there is most likely a format will fix it...
you need to download the files onto your comp and then use wmp 11 and sync..
if u need to change formats of the music, video or pictures use iriver plus 3 that came with the product
yeah, basically all i did was change my settings to MTP.
then i went into internal hardrive (just in normal usb mode)
i selected the songs i wanted and right-clicked (make sure to do this one one of the songs you selected) in the options that come up it should say "create playlist" (in bold) i clicked that, it wouldn't let me rename the playlist... but it worked fine... and now they come up in the right place, i didn't even use Iriver plus 3.
The same thing just happened to my iphone. I held down the button on top and the round button at the same time for about 5-10 secs and the phone reset itself. Hopes this helps
its an iriver x20 btw
