Driver issues... When I connect to my desktop (Windows XP), I have no problems transferring files. When I connect to my laptop (Vista), it doesn't seem to recognize my player. If I go into "device manager," the sansa shows up, but when I click it, I get the following message: "This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1) To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver." When I click Reinstall Driver, I get this message: "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. MTP Device This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1) If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software." Unfortunately, no driver software seems to be available on Sandisk's website. Any ideas for me?

Can not connect to rmote computer(xp) with new

Please download and install the Windows Vista driver from the website given below in order to resolve the issue:

http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:538:0:0

Please use the following steps to download the Lexmark X2470/X2480 Vista driver to your desktop:

1. Clickt "Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista." and "Download Now."

2. On the "File Download" screen, choose "Save."

3. The next screen will be titled "Save As." Choose to "Save in Desktop" and click "OK."

4. You should see files being transferred.

****Note**** If your browser uses a different file downloading format than specified above, you will need to resort to your browsers help files for downloading instructions. The object of steps 1 - 4 is to download the driver to your desktop. This way it is easily accessible.

5. Once the files have completed downloading, double click on the icon with your file name.

6. On the "Win Zip Self-Extractor" screen click "OK." To unzip the downloaded file choose "Unzip."

7. A screen will then display the number of files unzipped successfully, click "OK."

8. Please follow the on screen instructions to complete installation of your Lexmark printer.

Note: Please plug the USB cable when prompted while installing the driver. The USB cable should still be removed from the system, and the on-screen prompts will remind you of this. Eventually, you will get to a screen asking you to plug in the USB cable. This screen also has an "OK" button. Do not hit this button yet. First, plug in the USB cable. The screen should automatically detect and install the Lexmark X2400 series printer and scanner drivers.

TRANSFER TO PC

Hook up camera let windows say find new hardware. FOllow the prompts. Acording to Sony Xp has the driver already unless it is a 64 bit. See Below:
  • The drivers needed to connect most Sony® cameras and camcorders to a computer are already included in the Windows Vista and Windows XP operating systems. With these drivers, you should be able to connect and transfer files to a computer.
Note: If the your camera or camcorder is not recognized by the computer when connected, you may need an updated driver.
  • Detailed Windows Vista compatibility information is available for Sony Cameras and Camcorders.
  • The Windows Vista Starter edition and Windows XP 64-bit operating systems are not supported.

Windows Vista home + Windows XP Professional Networking issue

Make sure domain settings to your server are correct on the notebook computer. These settings are located in the control panel of the system setting.

Whats the operating system of your server?

Make sure the firewall in windows security is turned off too. Sometimes that thing sneaks up on you.

I haven't used the home edition of Vista but another reason why it might not be working is because it isn't the business version. Microsoft might have added extra security to prevent the home version from connecting to a server. I know we use the business version of Vista at work and it is working that way on the intranet server without a problem.

I would check with Microsofts website on that.

Internet connection for vista

unfortunately, there is nothing that you can copy and transfer from your XP based desktop. The best solution is to call your provider and ask them for a Vista driver update for your usb modem.

Hope this helps.
