Try to get your needle loose and out. Check for a mess of thread. Once for sure everything is out replace the needle and attempt to move the hand wheel. If it will turn you're in good shape. If it doesn't turn try once to slightly force it to turn. If you notice it to turn a little distance then stop like a crash you will need to have it timed by a pro.

SOURCE: Hand Wheel

There is a smaller wheel in the center of the big wheel. This has to be tightened in order for the needle to operate. This smaller wheel is needing to be in the loosened state to wind the bobbin. The needle should not go up & down then. Just hold the outside wheel & tighten the inner wheel. This should solve your problem. Hey, just wondering if I could possibly get a copy of your manual, as I lost mine for this model. I would really appreciate it! My email is [email protected] Thanks & Good Luck

SOURCE: balance wheel is totally jammed

machine was working fine when suddenly it just jammed up. Everything seems to be fine, but the balance wheel is completely jammed rigid. I've looked at the shuttle and there are no thread jams at all. The needle moves fine from side to side with different stitch selections, but wont go up and down with the wheel.
I have tried looking in the machine, but I can't find any thread jammed.

SOURCE: hand wheel loose

In the middle of the stop motion screw wheel there is a screw, undo the screw and unscrew the stop motion wheel all the way off, you will now see a three pronged washer, take it off and put it in a different position, put the stop motion wheel back on and just tighten finger tight, tighten the small screw all the way, now loosen the stop motion wheel and press on the foot control gently, the balance wheel should move with moving the machine, if the machine turns then start over again, you can put the three pronged washer upside down if you wish.

How to unlock hand wheel?

The hand wheel on a sewing machine is used to control the movement of the needle and the fabric. If the hand wheel becomes locked, it can prevent the machine from functioning properly. Here are a few steps you can try to unlock the hand wheel:
  1. Make sure the machine is turned off and unplugged from the power source.
  2. Check the bobbin case for any debris or thread that may be blocking the movement of the hand wheel. Clean it if necessary.
  3. Locate the belt or gear that connects the hand wheel to the machine's motor. Make sure the belt or gear is not loose, damaged or missing.
  4. Check the tension on the thread. If the thread is too tight, it can cause the hand wheel to lock up. Adjust the thread tension to the correct setting.
  5. Check for any jammed or broken parts. If any parts are broken or jammed, they may need to be replaced.
  6. Check the manual of your machine and see if there are any specific instructions for unlocking the hand wheel.
  7. If the above steps do not work, it may be necessary to take the machine to a professional for repair.
It's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and guidelines when troubleshooting and repairing your sewing machine. It's best to consult the manual or contact the manufacturer for specific instructions or guidance.

How do you adjust or center a needle?? Baby lock Quest Plus

ManualsLib has the manual for the BabyLock Quest Plus (BLQ2-PL) here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/537167/Baby-Lock-Quest-Plus-Blq2-Pl.html#product-Quest%20PLUS%20BLQ2-PL . The needle stop position button is the top button above the reverse button. To adjust the needle position for straight stitches, you press the stitch width button on the sewing machine. Pressing the - button will move the needle to the left; pressing the + button moves it to the right. The machine should start with the needle centered. See page 49 of the manual for the pictures of the machine button and the stitches that allow for needle position changes. To avoid damage, you can't move the needle left or right for most zig-zag stitches. The needle will move to the left and right from the center based on the desired stitch width.

I hope this helps. If your sewing machine needle isn't centering the needle correctly when you turn on the machine, it may need to be serviced.

Bobbin jam babylock 1506

Ooo ouch! sounds like you have a pretty bad timing problem and or a damaged bobbin case. Since it is a baby lock I would suggest taking it in for repair.

Flywheel locked up on Babylock Ellegante. No threads tangled up anywhere.

When you removed and replaced the throat plate, bobbin and bobbin case to clean the shuttle and surrounding area, did you have the needle at it's highest position?

If the bobbin case is not properly re-installed, the hand wheel is affected.

If all of the above has been done and the handwheel is still locked up, the machine will need to go into the shop for service.

This is an expensive, computorized machine and any additional hands-on troubleshooting could add up to a costly repair fee.
