You have to remember that the pads are designed to be ultra absorbent so it's going to be very difficult to get them to give up their ink unless you have something even more absorbent.
Trying to mop up or syringe out pads is really a bit of a losing proposition in terms of time, effort and ink mess so really the smarter option is to redirect the waste flow (ie: install an external tank) and allow the ink base (ie: water in the RX620) to slowly evaporate off over the course of the printers life..

I looked inside the back of the RX620 and really do not see how this Waste Ink tank will fit or solve the problem. The reset is no problem, just hold down the B&W and the Stop button while powering up the printer.
So any idea how this eBay fix actually works? I don't see that pads are provided and I dont see how the tank could be installed.
