I received the same error message in the middle of printing. I looked online and apparently if you change the ink pads you can reset it so it will continue to work. However, that is supposed to be rather expensive. And, how do you reset it so it will work?

I changed all ink cartridges in my epson CX5000 printer and the red error light is on. The printer won't realign so the cartridge holder is accessible. The printer won't print. The printer is still under warranty. What should I do?

You will need a rescue from http://www.TheServiceManualShop.com. This will give all you need to pull the machine apart and clean the ink pads in the base of machine. You will also need the special bit of software they include to enable you to reset the counter in the printers firmware. Once all done you will be right as rain. If the machine is within its warranty period Epson will fix it.

What do I do to fix when my RX620 Epson printer tells me that parts within have come to the end of service life?

fault is caused by counter, which counts printed pages for reason of possible overflow of waste ink pads. To reset counter a free tool is available under::

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

this tool has also other advantages of e.g. overdubbing cartridge codes ....

a german instruction for resetting the counter is available here:
http://www.druckerchannel.de/artikel.php?ID=1116&seite=13&t=schritt_7_zaehler_zuruecksetzen

make sure to have removed and replaced waste ink pads:
http://www.octoink.co.uk/pages/Epson-RX620.html

start program, choose printerport which is used for Epson rx620, choose Epson model rx620
close active window of program ssc -> program will be available by icon in right lower corner.
switch on printer
right mouse click on program icon in right lower corner will open options:
http://www.druckerchannel.de/artikel.php?ID=1116&seite=13&t=schritt_7_zaehler_zuruecksetzen#
choose according to picture

switch off printer / switch on printer

in case of not working at once retry

Changing ink reservor on Epson rx620

Are you often to used refilled cartridge? That's possible your waste tank has been fulled. Hold down the 'Stop' AND the 'B&W' button while powering up. This seems to clear the error message and restore the printer. Worked for me--dunno how long it will last tho!

Please rate me SOLVED.

Regards.

I have a epson stylus photo rx620. Have error message"Service required. Parts inside your printer are at the end of their servive life.see your printer documentation for details. I can not find anything in...

Epson programmed their printer to monitor the waste ink counter and your printer has reached the maximum value allowed, you have to reset your printer to clear the waste ink counter.

You may read the information regarding "end of life" and "waste ink counter" here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp

To reset the counter, download re-setter program here, install and follow the instruction in the web site.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Epson RX620 HAS STOPPED PRINTING YELLOW - NO ERROR MESSAGE - WE HAVE TRIED NEW CARTRIDGE AND CLEARED NOZZLE. ANY IDEAS?

I see the Epson site is a lot of help? When a color stops working and you know the cartridge is new or full you have to trace from the cartridge to the nozzle. The nozzles can be soaked in tap water to loosen deposits, then cleaned with a non metal instrument.Toothpick, toothbrush and the like. You have to look at the feed lines or tubes too,the ink will dry or thicken in them.Last but not least,Epson's site will let you contact them with specific problems.

Or extend outlet waste ink pipe to outside.

Possible to soak up excess ink on the 'pads'?

Hi Macddcam...

You have to remember that the pads are designed to be ultra absorbent so it's going to be very difficult to get them to give up their ink unless you have something even more absorbent.

Trying to mop up or syringe out pads is really a bit of a losing proposition in terms of time, effort and ink mess so really the smarter option is to redirect the waste flow (ie: install an external tank) and allow the ink base (ie: water in the RX620) to slowly evaporate off over the course of the printers life..

If you need information on the process for the RX620 then you can find it here

RX620 Error Message

This message comes up after about 40000 registers on a use counter. I posted what I did on the Epson RX620 forum. Look it up. Basically I bought a repair manual on the net for about $10.00 I used this to take the RX620 apart down to the waste ink catch pads which I removed cleaned dried and replaced. It was a long job the first time and you need the manual in order to figure out how to do it. My pads were only about 1/3 used but I live in a dry climate. So punch those override buttons and keep going. You might put a plastic sheet or pan under the printer to catch the waste ink when it actually does leak out.
