The screen was dark but if you look closer you will be able to see very faint picture, i can make can barely see the menu when i press the buttons.

Darken the room. Very dark. Turn tv on. Press menu button. Get flashlight and shine at screen. If you can make out the menu barely. It's the back light gone. Is it plasma or lcd.

Have you tried going into the MENU and clicking on the PICTURE sub-menu? If not,try this and you should be able to adjust the darkness level in addition to color , tint, etc. Good Luck

No picture is your problem? No model number but a suggestion if a LCD set---in a very dark room look at the screen with a flashlight--see a faint image of any sort there?

I would like to know if you would describe the picture or screen as a dark swirling cloud like one?

Check the pins on both end of the connector, make sure they're straight other wise, reposition it with fine long nose pliers. Make sure the connectors are push and screwed tight also. Let us know!

1. Power the unit on.
2. Press the mode button to access the Main Menu.
3. Select Setting > System > Display > Contrast.
4. Now press the enter button and continue pressing the arrows up or down to change the contrast.

Use a flashlight to shine light near the screen in a 45 degrees angle when the TV is ON, press menu to see if you get fainted dark video in the background. fainted video indicates that the backlight is defective.
This type of failure could be due to a lower backlight inverter voltage as well.

whats the brand name of your TV?

also try this, facing the front of your screen. locate a button indicating " menu" and click it.
once the menu button been activated there would be a display box indicating "AUDIO" "VIDEO" "TUNNING" or in some cases the screen will indicate one by one setting every time you press the "menu" button. If you'll able to find a display indicating "video" higlight the said icon and navigate throught it until you see the control for brightness. you can navigate the icon by pressing +/- channel button and to change the value of selected item you need to press +/- volume button of the screen.

Fading typically is related to power supply heating or connection opening on the digital drive. You might try fan into vents just to prove this, or plug in outside in the cold, and see how long it is on in test mode.

from the camara setting go into the menu, which is the m button and go down to the "white Balance" option, press the right button, aime at what your looking for and choose which one is the best setting press Ok and exit by pressing menu again.
