Question about Samsung SyncMaster 214T Monitor
This usually happens when the monitor does not recognise that it has been plugged in. Please check that there is either a blue analogue or white digital cable connect to the monitor and the computer.

I had a similar problem, the monitor was going blank once in a while (since I don't have a VGA input), so I switched the Auto Source feature to
"Manual" and so far it's working fine for the past 2 days, if I run
into the problem again I'll update this message.
On the side panel of your monitor, press the top button to access the menu, scroll down to the setup menu (by pressing the 3rd button down on the panel), press the 4th button down to enter the setup menu, scroll down to "Auto Source", use the 4th button to select, "Auto" & "Manual" are your choices.. press the 2nd button down to select "Manual" then the top button to exit the menu(s).
This monitor is set up to be able to do multi display with the software included. Utilizing both Digital and Analog signals. I'm not using this feature so I'm not sure how switching the Auto Source off will affect the performance of this feature.

1. this may be due to cable select and or cable not being secure at connection point
2.check your instruction manual for proper setup for digital signal to the LCD monitor and the to your video source.

SOURCE: syncmaster930b problem
As in almost all lcd type tv/monitor the backlight will go out and the inverter should be replaced at the same time. Your cost about 50.00 if you do it yourself.

SOURCE: Analog and Digital.
Your monitor should have come with two cables. One is for analog and the other is for digital and is rectangle. Before turning on the computer connect only the Digital cable to your monitor and the video card on the computer. Most monitors will automatically seance the Digital and operate when you start up the computer. Make sure the monitor is ON when the computer starts. Your manual should have instructions that will help.
DO NOT CONNECT BOTH CABLES UP. Only the one needed.
Hope this helps. Bud
