I plugged the camera into the port and am sure under all the static is the rc truck shell, you can kinda see it but its seems to be blanketed by the static. .?

I know you said the drivers for USB were installed, but make sure those are from the CD that came with the motherboard and not just the windows xp drivers when you install windows.

Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the
USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When
the program asks you to connect the Mouse Receiver to the USB
port, do so and it should work.

I have tested the LA40C530 Samsung with a 300GB external hard disk and it works well without any issue. My guess is that it should support 500GB as well. I have played video/music/pictures on my WD 300GB HDD.
