Hi Glenn,
Depending on the version you have , there is either a key labelled "upper" or there is a button with a "123" on it that cycles modes from letter to numbers to upper case to lower case etc or I have been told there is a button labled "[email protected]#" which apparently does the same thing.

Where your Smart TV already has an app in its app pages, start that app, log onto your Netflix account (which you need to pay for) and watch away.
If your TV does not have a Netflix app, give Player a try at - this is an app that runs on a PC and lets you open content on the screen of the PC and toss it to a lot of different Smart TVs (Samsung, Panasonic, LG, Sony, JVC, etc.). Ithing, It will be helpful for you.

Keyboards connect to Smart TVs using two main processes, but check the user manuals for both devices to determine the specific instructions. For wireless keyboards, push the wireless USB dongle into one of the TV's USB ports, while both the TV and keyboard are turned on.
Plug the wireless receiver into USB port 2 on the back of the TV. Turn the TV on and allow to power up. Press and hold the CONNECT button on the backside of the keyboard for 3 seconds or more to connect to the TV.

Sounds like the micro USB cable is defective and needs to be replaced. But, first try the cable on another USB port to be certain that the USB port is OK.

Hoope this helps.

Smart homes are a new idea, and as such, the meaning of the term varies. So when trying to talk about them, it's good to check and make sure you and the person you are speaking with are thinking of the same thing.

In general, "smart homes" are houses that have several building automation solutions implemented in them, allowing the house to be controlled from the convenience of a single user interface. The interface in question can take many forms, from a tablet mounted on the living room wall to smart speakers like Amazon's Alexa, which allows the house to be controlled via voice commands. Cellphones are often used as control units as well.

Pretty much any system and appliance in a person's house can be automated and integrated with the house's smart setup. Common targets are lamps, climate control systems, kitchen appliances, and the house's security systems - including locks, alarms, and cameras.

The backbone of a smart home implementation is the IoT hardware being used. That will determine how comprehensive and how reliable the smart setup is going to be, and the best way to acquire good IoT hardware is to have it custom designed and produced to suit your needs by a team of professionals. This company, for example, can handle that type of service.

Some smart tv's have their own app, so check the user guide or google around.

Easy for general purposes is to buy a Chromecast device (you only need the older cheaper version) and then you can mirror anything in the Chrome browser.

Google search of this issue seems to indicate it is rather a common one.

They are working but the app reports they are not. Sounds like a connectivity issue between the part of the app which gets status of the devices and the devices reporting their status.

Google the device and "reporting not connected in the app" and you will see a lot of posts.

If your Kindle Fire uses Fire OS 3.0 or higher, it should work, provided the Kindle has Wi-Fi capability.

if your laptop has functional Wi-Fi, you can also use your favorite web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Internet Explorer (10 or higher)) to set up through Amazon's Alexa page.

For complete details, see the first section of "Amazon Help: Set Up Your Echo Dot."

Not enough information here.
Suggest you go to the manufacturer's website and have your TV model number ready.
