Take the memory card out of your camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

buy another. you need a main board..very expensive. samsung builds stuff cheap and they put alot of features on their units.. thats why people buy them. but the downside they dont last. try to look at a canon product ?

Hi I just aquired a 6040 with the same probem, except that it has nitepix and that feature does not seem to function, my guess is we both have a problem with the CCD maybe it is loose, who knows, I'm not opening mine up till I have some better idea, I will post my findings. please do the same when you have something.

Unless you are good with very tiny electronics, let them do it for $150. There is no easy way to take it apart.

You can use the AC charger just fine.

Are you using a Video Camera? If so, you need a Fire Wire cable, not a USB cable. You can get Fire Wire Cables at Radio Shack or any store that sells electronics.
