When I attempt to print the data and ready lights are on, but soon after it sounds as though it will print, the "Alarm" light appears, and printing stops.

Go into Test Print Mode
The printer incorporates various test print modes.
Select the test mode you want to use following the steps below;
(1) Turn off the power switch of the printer and check that the front cover is closed.
(2) Turn on the power switch while holding down the control panel button. Press the button
until the Drum LED comes on.
The Drum LED illuminates to indicate that the printer enters into the test print mode.
(3) If you want to execute the test print, release and then press the button again when the
Drum LED comes on.
or
Push "alarm" button : The printer is restored to the factory setting and permanent fonts and macros are cleared.
The printer returns to the ready status after
printing.
If it does not reset, replace the main PCB.

Ready light doesn't stay lit, alarm light is red

Because I was getting gray shading on my pages and data was still being printing, I decided to change the toner cartridge. Now the pages are clean and white and all the lights function properly. Most cartridges that are running on empty don't print any data at all or at least print the data at the top of the page and gradually gets fainter sp? on the page. Who would have thought just by changing the cartridge would solve the problem? So glad that's all it was........wasn't excited about having to buy a new printer.

All lights are flashing not printing

Might have a paper jam in area of toner and drum cartridge that may need to be removed. Typically this will solve the issue.

Power went out and back on; now printer won't print

I had the same problem after a resent power outage. Here's what fixed mine.

Turn the power switch off.
Wait a 15-20 seconds
While holding the button on the front panel down turn the power switch on.
After the drum light comes on release the button wait then press the button again.
Turn the machine off then back on again and you should be back in business.

To prevent the problem in the future if you are not using the printer turn it off and if the power goes off while printing get the printer turned off before the power comes back.

Drum light on Ready light on Alarm light on Data light on

Alarm and Data lights on together is from low toner. If shaking of the toner cartridge is not helping, change the toner.
Drum light is usually on because of the print counter. If the print quality goes really bad, change the drum and reset the counter by holding the front button wile the front cover is open till all lights come on. Release the button and close the cover.
If just Data light is on, check the print ques, some jobs might got stuck there.
