When I turn the timer to start the wash the stop light comes on but nothing else happens?

Check that you don't overload the machine. This can happen if the load is too heavy.

all tho the manual says a faulty cold water solenoid which it can be i have found that 9 out out of 10 times its not tht but a faulty main contol module

You have a timer problem, the contacts are welded in spin mode.
This is almost always caused by advancing the timer by hand when the dial is pulled out in the "ON" position, causing arcing of the contacts.

most common fault is that the carbon ushes have worn out on the motor they cost about £10.00,to buy and they are easy to replace.hope this solves your probem,rgds paul

we have a 4 yr. old built in dishwasher,model #665-15812,the lock-on light is blinking,and the wash and rinse lights are on,but if we push start ,it won't,and if we push the clear button,it won't clear,it's like it's stuck ....we've tried un-plugging,etc....any ideas,on what to do??? donnie-sue79

I suspect for either of these units that the timer control boards are bad.
